Can anyone recommend which vendor has the 'best' flavors for the following:

  • Black/Rasp/Boysen-berry - or a generic "berry" flavor which does NOT include strawberry
  • Mint

Thanks.

I love TFA raspberry sweet. I haven't tried other companies version but I'm perfectly happy with the TFA version

Hello guys! So, I've ordered my first DIY stuff on Friday, so it should be here tomorrow, I'm from Europe, so i ordered form pink-mule.com, and this is what I bought:

  • 1 10ml syringe
  • 2 1ml syringes
  • 1 30ml needle bottle
  • 1 FA Peppermint
  • 1 FA Strawberry
  • 1 FA Menthol
  • 1 FA Marshmallow
  • 1 FA Mango
  • 1 FA Banana
  • 1 100ml's PG bottle
  • 1 100ml's PG bottle of 52mg nicotine base
  • 1 250ml's VG bottle
  • 2 50ml's bottles
  • and a pair of latex gloves

So, What do you guys thing about my order? It all came down to ~40€ and I'm thinking about doing some high VG juices. around 70~80% VG.

BTW side question, do you guys know any good Time Bomb Vapors Joker clone recipes? It's just the best juice i've tasted, wanted to see if i could do something close to it.

You're going to need more 1ml syringes. FlavourArt is really concentrated and the scent is still left behind even with a good cleaning. It's best to keep a dedicated syringe with each flavor. Also, you'll probably want more empty bottles. And get nitrile gloves instead of latex. I've heard higher concentrated nicotine can degrade latex.

I've got some more bottles saved, looks like I'll have to give them a good cleaning. You are probably right about the syringes, i'll probably go to the nearest pharmacy when my delivery arrives, I just didn't knew how much money they where so I got them online cause they sounded cheap at 0,80€.

About the gloves, do they sell those at pharmacies?? Where I do my internship, the painter there uses some thicker gloves that I thought they were latex, maybe they are Nitrile... I'll ask if he can get me a pair of those.

BTW: Thanks for the input :)

You could also ditch syringes and diy by weight. Just get a scale that measures to the hundredths. I personally use this one. And this calculator allows you to convert your recipes all to grams for weighing.

Could a griddle be used to speed steep? What size flavoring should I buy when starting out

I can't answer to the griddle question (I would think not), but start off at wizardlabs.com. They sell 8mL vials from several flavor producers for $1.49 each. A great way to get a bunch of flavors to try out for cheap. Once you find flavors/recipes you really like, you can buy bigger bottles directly from the manufacturers.

I wanted o try the nana cream clone and a fruit lips recipe I have both require flavors from 3 different vendors

All the flavors for /u/fizzmustard's nana cream clone can be purchased from wizardlabs, and it's spot on (I always have a bottle of nana cream in my possession). I'm not sure which fruit loops recipe you're trying to make, but I make one that's awesome using ingredients you can buy from wizard labs:

Fruit circles (TPA): 7%

Berry Crunch (TPA): 3.5%

Bavarian Cream (LA): 1%

Sweet Cream (TPA): 3%

Marshmallow (TPA): 2%

Dairy Milk (TPA): 2%

Hey everyone! I'm really intrigued by ÐiY and would love to get into mixing. I've picked out a couple of recipes and some of them require Citric Acid. I've got some Citric Acid and my PG ready, and I've been reading that 1g of CA per 9ml (or 10ml?) of PG is a good formula for a 10% solution. Well, I plan to mix by weight, how would I calculate the weight for this if the recipe requires "1 drop per ml (/u/fizzmustard nana' clone)?

Also, in terms of properly "steeping" the liquid afterwards, would it be sufficient to just mix into a my bottle and simply do hot baths and shake vigorously? I suppose I can try to build my own magnetic stirrer, but is it required? I mean I don't mind playing the waiting game.

In many cases, the nana cream clone included, the citric acid is added after the recipe is complete. i.e. If you mix up 30mL of nana cream, then you add 30 drops of CA to the completed recipe. In order to try to factor in CA as a percentage, all the percentages of everything else would need to be altered to keep the same flavor profile, since 30 drops of CA will add roughly 1.5mL to the entire mix.

Also, 95% of my juice mixes are made directly into the bottle, and just soaked in hot water with shaking. However, for some mixes that I know will require a long steep, I'll mix the recipe in a heavy-bottomed glass or mason jar, then soak the jar in hot water and hit the juice with a milk frother (ikea has one for $6 on amazon). I just repeat the process three times before pouring it into a bottle (with a small funnel) and it will shorten a 2-3 week steep to 2-3 days.

How big does your batch have to be to do this with this frother thing

by jl2121over 10 years agoMixologist

I've done it with batches as small as 10mL and as large as 200mL.

Ah, right. Would there be a way for me to input it into my calculator in order to get a proper percentage that would suffice so that it does no conflict with the rest of the recipe?

When I do it, I put citric acid in as an ingredient, but list it at 0.0%, and just put a note in the notes field that says "Citric Acid: 1 drop per ____mL"

What's the best place to buy empty glass bottles? Is ECD still the place to go?

1 points

by jl2121over 10 years agoMixologist

I'm not sure what ECD looks like, but I buy mine by the case on amazon for ~$0.80-0.90 each

ECD is always out of stock. Hit up amazon or Ebay. Both have good choices in bottles.

I've been making some pretty good mixes but never tried any of the additives. I just picked up a bottle of sucralose.

Anyway, I've only seen suggestions based on 'drops' and not ml. Is there any starting point in terms of a percent that I can work up from?

Also, is sucralose even worth using? I've seen a lot of mixed feedback about it.

Thanks in advance.

I hardly use it. Most juices are sweet w/o it. I am not saying it doesnt have it's uses, but there far and few between. Ethyl Maltol (Marshmallow) can be used as a sweetener as well. I personally use FA Honey diluted to 10% in PG for alot of bakery recipes to give it a bit extra sweetness.

As far as how much to use is up to debate. I wouldn't go over 1% max and probably would start at a lower .25%. With 10% FA Honey mix i tend not to go over .5% as it is quite potent and anything over .5% starts to make the honey flavor come out over other flavors. Also Ethyl Maltol can mute flavors in high percentages.

FWIW, Ethyl Maltol is Cotton Candy, not marshmallow. Marshmallow is excellent as a sweetener/texture additive, but it's different from EM.

Thanks for clarifying that. I had a brain fart moment.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I just ordered some FA Honey.

I've mixed about 25-30 flavors so far and only one seemed to need a little extra sweetness (Capella Caramel). I might have just had too low of a flavor % though at around 7% and probably jumped the gun by ordering the sucralose. I definitely like the honey idea better than vaping sucralose.

FA Honey is really strong so make sure you dilute it to 10% before you use it. Take 1mil of Honey and put it into a bottle with 9mil of PG. Don't use honey straight from the original flavourart bottle as it is super potent. Use your 10% Honey solution at about .25% - .5% to sweeten. If you go as high as 1% you will start tasting the honey alot more and it will start overpowering other flavors.

Sucralose is great in certain recipes. One of my ADVs uses 2% sucralose, and it just isn't the same without it.

When I get all my supplies in the mail should I start by making 10ml batches at 0nic first to get a feel for flavors? Starting off with low flavor and vaping it, adding more if necessary, then vaping again until I get the right amount of flavor for me?

Also is there a good standalone pineapple flavor?
