As the title says. I have been just filling up my sink with hot water and putting my vials in a plastic zip lock bag and letting them sit int here for a while. After 30 min, i pull it out, shake and repeat about 3 times. Then let it for 1 or 2 days.
As ridicilous as this sounds, it worked for me. I made a cool flavor i named "Bubblegum Tongue Punch." Tastes great, but really sweet (which myself and a few people i let try it like but some may not care for how sweet it is).
Back on topic. Can anyone explain this jewelry cleaner shit and hot water bath, etc and just go over steeping in general.. Or at least link me to some good sources?
I would HIGHLY appreciate your time on this subject.
And if your feeling a bit bored, maybe a small guide on how to create your own flavor (some general advice).
Thanks again,
will be posted here for a bit!
ELI5: Shake it and wait. Everything else is just a shortcut that won't produce the same results. Seriously. You can hot-bath and super-shake and ultra-sound your juice all you like but the fact is those custards aren't going to come out for two weeks. I dont know why but that's how it is.
My theory is the flavor might spoil after awhile when mixed with everything else and that gives it its signature 'custardness'. Sometimes like if a well cured custard bottle gets a slight film of juice on it, I notice when it "dries" it has a weird funky cheesy kinda smell, that's where my unfounded theory came from
Time is the best steeping method. Hands down. If you can't wait a couple short hot water baths no hotter than 150. Shake lots
Can you explain hot water bath thoroughly though? Do I dinner water in a pot and drop the bottle in their? Won't that melt the dropper top? Please explain so I have a better understanding. I greatly appreciate your feedback!
Heat water to 140 (it's not gonna melt anything, water doesn't even boil till 212 degreees), pour into a cup just so there's enough that when you put the bottle in there the water level is right below the cap, let it sit in there for 10 minutes, violently shake the bottle, let it cool down, and repeat 2-4 times. It's really not rocket surgery.
Shortcut: fill an ultrasonic cleaner with hot-ish (140 F, as recomended), uses a glass dropper bottle, and run the ultrasonic cleaner for a while (say, a half hour, or so) to do the shaking for you. This will HELP, but time is important, too, as its not just physical mixing that goes on, but chemical reactions on the molecular level. Most importantly, the oxidation of nicotine. Mixes will often gradually change color over time, depending on the flavors used.
