Vapor Lab 0.9.2.5 BETA - With more delicious features (and less bitter bugs)
submitted over 10 years ago by StormyVapors

Hello again /r/DIY_eJuice,

I have been listening to your suggestions and working away on the latest version of Vapor Lab. In this new version we have included the ability to save new revisions / versions of your recipes while keeping the original intact.

Keep in mind we are going to keep the database backwards compatible so you don't have to worry about losing your data when new updates are released.

Please check out our official forum post for screenshots and more information!

Thanks Again!

Nice! I loved the previous version but stopped using it when it kept changing the percent of certain flavorings in a new recipe. Hopefully this version gets rid of whatever that bug was. I love the weight feature and the create concentrate feature.

Yikes! That is a serious bug! I do remember fixing a similar bug (if not the same) back in an alpha version. This particular bug would have kept the % of a flavor used in a one recipe and apply it to a different recipe using the same flavor.

I am sorry you experienced such a bad bug! I remember finding that one almost immediately after I posted the link to Reddit, I managed to fix it pretty fast but not before you downloaded it.

But just to be sure that the core isn't critically bugged I will run extra unit testing on core features

Thank you for your feedback!

I think that was probably the bug I ran across. I'll let you know how this build works out.

Just checked out your site and this looks nice. I really like the revisions. Looks like Git for recipes. This will be nice when I'm trying to tweek a recipe.

Is there a limit to the number of ingredients in a recipe? That's one of the problems I'm running into with the program I use now.

I'll install this later today and send you my feed back. Looks nice so far.

There is no limit to the number of ingredients in a recipe. Thank you for testing the software! Let me know if you spot any bugs or if there are any features you personally would like to see!

Fantastic. Been looking for something that will calculate the cost of the recipe. Downloading it now.

As of beta 0.9.2.5: PG, VG, and Nicotine costs are based off some internal generic numbers. It's not ideal but it works for basic tests.

These generic numbers are as follow:

Nicotine: $0.20 / ml

PG: $0.007 / ml

VG: $0.007 / ml

There has been a lot of interest in the cost calculations so I will focus on implementing the costs management window for the next (very soon) release.

Seriously though making Vapor Lab is a fun project for me and I am making it for you guys so if there is anything you personally would like to see in the next release let me know!

The cost management would be great. Right now, I have to change the prices manually, or is there a way to do it in batches?

Currently it is manual, I will add cost batch processing for the components menu. In the future I will provide an updated flavors file to accurately reflect what size bottle you purchase.

This looks like exactly what I've been looking for!

...except I'm on a mac.

+1 to this. Same here.

There's always WINE. WineBottler looks cool but I just run windows stuff on my windows box. Hell, I don't even have bootcamp on the family mac here, and that's... odd for me.

Cant import from other calcs.. ~~also when using the drop down to add flavors to a recipe, there isn't a add button when choosing from the flavor dropdown and entering the %, so it isnt populating the window with the flavor, what am I missing~~ Pressed enter.....DUH

Very nice! I can't get "show drops" or "hide cost" to do anything though.

Fixed Show drops and many other bugs in version 0.9.5.7 Hide costs not implemented yet https://stormyvapors.com/vaporlab/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9

I saw that! Very nice, hide costs is not a big deal, the output format copies and pastes nicely.
