To anyone looking for a better steeping method

Search Amazon for a magnetic stirrer/hot plate combination. Out of all the methods I have seen and used, this is by far the best. It turns days/weeks of waiting into minutes/hours of waiting.

Just remember: if it may be hot, it's hot.

tl;dr Magnetic stirrer hotplate combo.

cool idea but the comments section blows holes in the design. need someone who know what they're doing to do a better diagram.

What size flasks/bottles are you limited to? Would you still be able to mix 10ml?

50ml erlenmeyer flasks are ok for 10ml. Also, I bought a 1/2" micro stir bar on eBay and drop it right in a 15ml or 30ml bottle when I'm feeling lazy and just want to mix in the bottle. It's far less optimal than in a flask, but works pretty well.

Thats what i was thinking. I actually ordered the spinner hot plate yesterday and some 50ml flasks this morning. Thanks for the post! My UC just went out and have been considering replacement options.

That's why I bought my stirrer. My cheap UC actually caught fire. Never liked the noise it made either.

The used market comes and goes on these, I got one for 50$. Keep looking, Corning is a quality brand.

Why not be able to stir and heat 10 bottles at a time? You do save $400+ on this little fella...
