I mixed up a 110ml batch of the cereal killa clone, and for some reason I am getting very muted flavor. When I mixed up a 5ml batch to try, it tasted great after a shake and vape. I let the large batch steep for 5 days and put it in a hot water bath right after I made it, but for some reason no matter what I do this juice tastes more like sweet unflavored VG than what its supposed to. I mixed at 30/70 PG/VG with 1mg nic. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? For reference here is the recipe i used:
FW Hazelnut 2% FA Meringue 2% FA Bergamot 1.5% FA Orange 1% Cap Tang 1% FE Lemon 3% FW Yellow Cake 2%
Are you sure it isn't just vapor's tongue?
If not, I have noticed that juice can get muted, or at least appear to be, if the hot water bath is to hot. It seems to usually come back though after a long rest (1 week or so). I've never nailed down why, I just make sure to not let the water get too hot when using the sonic cleaner.
How hot was your bath?
It's funny that you ask about vapers tongue because this juice tastes exactly how everything tasted to me when I had vapers tongue. It's not vapers tongue though because all of my other mixes taste fine. As far as heat goes, I don't measure the temperature of my baths but I use the hottest water the tap puts out, so I can't imagine it being more than 110 degrees. When I steep my juice I use a crock pot but I don't turn it on, I just turn my sink on hot and put the hottest water the sink will put out in the crock pot in there and cover it up. Also, all of the other juices I speed steeped with this juice taste fine.
Hmm. It still could be vapor's tongue. VT doesn't make all flavors taste that way, just the one you most commonly vape.
Before you toss any juice, go stick your face in a can/bag of coffee (spice merchants do this to reset their sense of smell). If that doesn't work, eat a lemon wedge to reset your sense of taste.
If that doesn't work, mix up 5ml of your juice and see if that tastes different than your big batch. If so, you probably mixed it wrong or got it too hot. Stick it in a drawer and cross your fingers.
Way ahead of you, tried all of that. I made another 5ml batch and it kind of tastes a bit flavorless now as well. This isn't my adv or anything, I've only vaped about 5ml of it and it still tastes flavorless. I'm at a loss here so I'm just going to let it steep for a bit longer and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestions!

The small batch I made that I could actually taste was great!
