This is raspberry lemonade made from what I had on hand. I got a case of 2 dram glass vials to mix samples in to taste flavors and dilutions, so I got something down I'm pretty happy with. Wanted to share my process, as I'd made a thread earlier about having trouble with some FA flavors, I apparently wasn't the only one.
My process: I created 1% dilutions of the flavors in a 30/70 pg/vg mix 5mL in 2 dram glass vials (about 7mL) using heated VG and shaking PG with flavorings before diluting with VG. Next, I took a 5mL sample of same base with 2% lemon sicily (FA), 4% raspberry (FA), 1% ethyl maltol 10% in pg and 7% Juicy Lemon (CAP). I made the flavors strong on purpose. After testing, I diluted solution above with 2mL base, adding more EM to bring it back to 1%. I dripped these over wickless coils. Measuring mass added w/ flavoring and taken out to vape, I proceeded to change ratios and then made a flavor base, diluting 1mL samples and fine tuning with same process as above. Tested, then made 5mL test batches to judge concentration. Finally decided on the below ratio:
- 5% Juicy Lemon CAP
- 3% raspberry FA
- 2% lemon sicily FA
- 1.5% ethyl maltol 10% in PG
- .5% sucralose 10% in PG
- 75/25 VG/PG
- nicotine to preference (6mg for me)
Too complicated? 5% Juicy Lemon CAP, 3% Raspberry FA, 2% lemon sicily FA
Made a 30mL bottle, (and combining the remainders from the above samples in a leftovers) and after some hot water and sonic, I tested it out. Pretty good. If you have it, a drop of cactus INW adds some juiciness, but not everybody has that so I left it out.
A couple observations to help work with FA flavors, as I've found them delightful as I've learned:
- weigh out your PG and flavors, cap and shake.
- Make sure you warm up your VG before adding
- if you have it, use a jewelry cleaner. After shaking PG w/ flavors for a minute (optional) but definitely at end with everything mixed. I found one buried in my house that doesn't have cycles, a bit of cleaning and it fits the task nicely.
- Let it sit and breathe for a night before tasting.
- Add the warmed VG in batches and shake thoroughly in between. You can shake everything but that last like 5/10g VG in a 30mL bottle quite well.
- Don't judge a weak flavor immediately. FA becomes very strong once it's allowed to diffuse throughout the fluid. It is very concentrated, so you won't get an even and cohesive flavor when shake and vaping. I believe this to be why I've seen people using FA above 5% dilution.
- Make sure your batteries are fresh when you're testing. I notice my batteries die quickly when I'm testing, you don't get a lot of flavor off a dead battery. Also make sure your air holes aren't wide open if you're a cloud chaser.
Well, just thought I'd share. Perhaps somebody will find it useful.
Another simple version that I really enjoy, as do my friends who have tried it:
- 10% Lemonade (TFA)
- 7% Raspberry V2 (CAP) (Ripe Strawberry also works)
- 1% Ethyl Maltol 10% (WL)
A hot water bath is all it needs.
I'm thinking that flavoring might be a bit high. One thing i found was overflavoring starts to mute flavors, meaning adding more sometimes dulls the flavor rather than making it pop more.
Have you tried something like 6-7% Lemonade 4% raspberry? What do you think about this in a bit weaker dilution?
I really like LA Lemonade. I'm about to mix some with raspberry for the first time so we'll see how it goes but i have made blueberry lemonade with it and it's great.
Here's a recipe that was a mistake, i didn't realized i only had a dram of lemonade and ran out mid mixing, substituted the lemonade with pineapple and turned out very good imho, but i'm eager to tweak it some more.
Bluepine Lemonade - Max VG
- 6.5% Lemonade LA
- 7% Blueberry Extra TFA
- 3.5% Pinneapple TFA
- 2% Marshmallow TFA
I followed the recipe to the "T" and upon vaping it I immediately got vapors tongue haha I made another batch with lower percentages, the flavor art stuff is super concentrated.
Been trying to get a good Raspberry Lemonade for a long time. I had one by Black River Vapes and I'm dying to make something like it. Hopefully it doesn't last more than a day or so this time. Wish me luck!
How is FA raspberry? I've been wanting to try a good raspberry lemonade recipe for a while. I have juicy lemon and lemon sicily but only CAP raspberry and TFA sweet raspberry. Maybe I'll try it with one of those and get some FA in my next order.
FA raspberry is very good. It's a little less sweet then something else you'll find. It's a very natural raspberry, I actually would have used TFA raspberry here if I had it, that artificial taste and oversweet nature is somewhat nice in raspberry lemonade.
Try going for 5-7% rasperry TFA or CAP as substitute in this flavor, perhaps a 5mL sample of each to see what you like better between the 2. That should work, TFA/Cap are both a little more dilute than FA flavors.
I made 10ml of each at 6%. They're both pretty good out of the cleaner but I think the CAP raspberry works better, and maybe 5%. I'll give them a few days and check again. I have to add FA to my list now because a more natural raspberry sounds really nice. Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the tips! I am hoping to get a bunch of flavour arts to try out. One idea I had was diluting all the flavours ahead of time to 10%, so 1ml of flavour to 9ml of pg or vg. This will allow quicker flavour dispersion and possibly easier mixing, 5 ml should be easier to get in a syringe than .5. Also might help when using smell to give you ideas for mixing, most of the FA concentrates smell pretty harsh, don't they?
I check this sub pretty often in hopes that somebody would post a recipe like this. Thank you. I can't get enough High Caliber Blue Raspberry Lemonade.
I wonder if simply adding blueberry to the mix would make it a blue raspberry? Maybe it would need something else entirely? I loved blue raspberry candy as a kid.
