No. No other options. Nude nic all the way.

I would buy separate individual flavors so that you can make what you want to make and not what is convenient for them to throw into the kit. Just do some research on what you need before jumping right into it. I've never been a fan of pre-made kits because the whole point of DIY is to learn how to do it yourself.

I am somewhat new and wish that someone did put together a kit of just a box, pipettes, a few glass bottles of various sizes, syringes, gloves.. and let me pick out my own flavors, pg, vg and nic elsewhere.

Fair enough. If that's what works for you then definitely go for it.

This really is not a good deal. For $70 you can get 240ml of pg, 240ml of VG, 120 mL of 100mg nicotine, 20- 8ml vials of flavor, and bottles and syringes.

Wizardlabs.us

  • PG- 250 mL- $5.50

  • VG- 250 mL- $5.50

  • Nic- 120ml- $16

  • Syringe- 3-18g blunt tip, 3- 1ml syringe, 3ml, 10ml $5.50

  • Bottles-15-30ml $8.25, 15-10ml $7.35

  • Flavors- 10 $1.50

$63 with $9 shipping comes to $72 total for all that. If you put it that way, those starter kits are total rip offs. Sorry OP, I would consider canceling your order.

I put in a request unsure if they will honor it or not. Oh well.

Wizardlabs is free shipping at $65 so there's that, too.

I agree, I've never seen a decent package. Op, cancel if you can. Seriously, you don't need a "spoon spatula" or "Nicosorb Cartridge Filler", nor do you want their 30ml of 36mg Nic or 60ml PG/VG.

Here is an alternative setup to the one /u/IllustratedMann posted that mixes by weight (HUGE improvement over volume). His suggestion is great btw and very similar to what I started with. The following however is what I recently recommended to my brother.

Total: $100 (includes shipping | all are US, community-darling vendors)

That will get you a true hobby-level setup and enough nic to make ~600ml of 12mg juice with plenty of supplies to spare.

Also guys, the flavors you start with are less important than how you use them. There are several schools of thought, but I highly recommend ordering the flavorings for at least 2 highly rated user recipes that you find here (especially clone recipes), and play towards tweaking them to your preference. That way you start with amazing juice on day one, and your project juices are fun, not desperate.

The community is rapidly maturing and you no longer have to reinvent the wheel. You absolutely can, but get some ADV in the cupboard before you take that on. This comment talks a bit more about that.

Here is another hotbed of crowd-sourced info. Make an account and explore.

This is great! I was just trying to compare to the $70 cost of the starter kit off the top of my head. Really awesome, thank you for sharing!

Only thing for the cheapskate in me, Wizardlabs nicotine is cheaper though, even with having to pay shipping again.

Is PG necessary if you only plan on making liquid for RDAs/Dripper level RTAs?

Thanks for the great response. I canceled my order and I am looking into this.

Mixing by weight? Can you elaborate?

Do you mix by weight? These guys should really start off by weight. I've mixed for a long time and that was a game changer. Also, it's cheaper.

PG, VG, Nic, scale, 50x 10ml bottles, box of gloves, Flavorings, done...

Just replied to Tomahawk1012s comment, check it out, I made you guys a list.

That's not a bad kit to get started at all. It has a little bit of everything you might need to get started.

by Botulismover 10 years ago

That was my thought as well. Does the pricing seem fair to you?

ehh a lot of that stuff i never use in my lab. I started with 150$ and got like 48 different dram sized TFA bottles from wizard labs, a few syringes, nude nicotine and a gallon of VG but ive also never used about half of those flavors so for 60 bucks or so at wizard labs you could get a lot more variety of flavorings + bottles and syringes and thats all you really need other than VG and good nic

Eh, it's not great but it's not terrible either. I got this kit and it was a great learning tool. If you know what you want you can certainly get better deals, but for just getting started in my opinion it's a good buy

Why the fuck does every "starter kit" cone with a single pair of gloves? What good is that going to do you? Boxes of gloves with 100pc/ea cost a couple bucks wholesale. Why don't these companies give you a lousy box of gloves instead of a completely useless single pair? Seriously?

1 points

by Deviate3sover 10 years ago

That's always bothered me too. I guess one pair of $0.02 disposable gloves is better than no gloves...? I mean, only barely better though.

1 points

by mnementh666over 10 years ago

They included extra gloves on my kit, and another couple pairs on a subsequent flavor reorder.

Hey , I quit vaping a while ago. I got a full a kit for sale (it will be better than any premade kit). if you are serious I can take pics, I've sold more than once on reddit. I see you have a solid account, I am willing to do a trade with you.

Pulled the trigger on the premium. With shipping it was $70.

Lets hope I like making juice!

Also easiest thing is to buy syringes from Amazon. I bought 10ml, 3ml, 1ml as well as 24 GA needles for like 34$ and now have enough for the next 3+ years.
