I really like TFA's Double Chocolate (Dark). It's a really good base for building chocolate profiles. Every other choc flavor I've tried past 2-3% starts to get medicinal but you can really ramp up the double.

Like the op, I too have stayed away from most chocolates but hear that double chocolate is one of the better ones. Have you by chance tried the clear variety, and if so what are your thoughts between that and the dark? I've heard people compare the clear to tootsie roll, hence my lack of eagerness to try it.
It's still tootsie rollish, but I've never tasted a true, single mix chocolate. You can start with the double chocolate as a base, then add other flavors like dulce, other chocolates, brown sugar, nutty flavors, etc.
I haven't tried the clear because the dark really nails it for me and I personally don't mind the color.
Capellas Chocolate Donut and Brownie are very good, just as described.
I agree, i like their double chocolate as well. Here is one i made to taste like one of those really cheap gas station choco donuts.
Gas Station Chocolate Donut
- 7% Chocolate Glazed Doughnut (CAP)
- 4% Double Chocolate (CAP)
- 2% Cotton Candy (TFA)
Requires a couple weeks curing time but can be a shake and vape too, it is just very sweet as a shake and vape.
I appreciate your comments, and posting the recipe. However, when I think gas station donuts I think cheap, artificial chocolate. I mean, I'm down for some gas station donuts at times, but would you say either of these flavors would be good to make a decent dark chocolate bar, akin to something a little higher end?
I hear ya, my local gas station makes their own donuts my favorite being long johns. They are very good, inexpensive would have been a better word to use than cheap.
Unfortunately this has been my only chocolate mix as i have so many flavors and custards are my favorite. Sorry i couldnt be of more help to you and good luck in your search!
EDIT TO ANSWER ?: Double Chocolate is fantastic, i feel it tastes very real but taste is very subjective when it comes to chocolate especially. Ill do some playing around and if i come up with anything ill message you or post it in the sub.
I've never tried concentrates but there's some good chocolate vendor juices.
I was recommended this for DIY but haven't tried it yet.
I've enjoyed several chocolate flavors, and I also despise any kind of artificial flavoring/sweetener normally but I've been happy to discover that vaping the synthetic flavors is much different than actually eating them. If you use the right amount it won't taste fake, although depending on the flavor it will if you use too much, or it might not be able to simulate more than a faint authentic taste... I actually love TFA White Chocolate, it actually carries the rich sweetness of white chocolate which I thought was very impressive considering that white chocolate is more of a mouthfeel than a flavor.
I'm vaping a mix with Flavor West's Double Dutch Chocolate right now as we speak. It doesn't remind me of Hershey's or anything sugar free. It's a very rich dutch chocolate, I like it. I'm trying to consolidate all my flavors to TFA, so after I finish this bottle of it, I'm probably going to by the TFA equivalent, though.
FA cocoa is pretty good, but it can burn if you run it at too high watts. Full disclosure: The only other chocolate type I've tried is FA Chocolate, and I do not like it

I have some chocolate sitting around that just came today. When smelling the bottle itself it does not smell at all like chocolate, is that normal? Also, do you have any recipe for chocolate or do you know the % for standalone chocolate? I also have the following : nut mix, classic Vanilla, cookie, espresso and Caramel (all from FA)
