Question about menthol flavors
submitted over 10 years ago by El_Oso_Blanco

I have gotten enough requests to make a menthol flavor that I really don't have a choice. I ordered the menthol PG base from TFA.

Thing is, I HATE menthol, and I have never made anything with menthol. About what percentage would y'all recommend for just a straight menthol, and what for one where you just want a mentholy after taste in a fruit flavor?

For fruity-menthol flavors I'm a big fan of 1% Menthol, 1% TFA Absinthe. I use menthol crystals dissolved in PG, so you may need a bit more of the TFA Menthol. The absinthe helps the fruit to pop, but isn't a pronounced absinthe flavor.

I do 3 drops in a 15 ml and it gives it a good kick. I'll do 5 if I want an after meal cool down. Do not overdroo, it adds in quick. Make sure to shake it well.

If you want yo blow the. Away, just make a kiwi double tfa and add menthol. Those go so good tommorow.

Omg I was out of it last night. I like to make a basic kiwi mixed in between 6-8%. I then add 3-5 drops of the menthol based on how much of a kick I want. 5 drops is too much for most people unless they want an arctic blast so keep that in mind. Also, make sure to shake whatever flavor you make with menthol very well as it tends to sink to the bottom. Let me know how it goes.

Now that you're speaking english again (haha), I totally agree with you.

OP, work with menthol in drops. Less is more when it comes to Menthol. If you add just a bit too much, it will completely overpower your mix.
