Hey fellow DIY-ers. Just spoke to Jake with Nude Nicotine (/u/NudeNicotine). I had placed an order on the... fourth or fifth and they shipped it on the seventh. He informed me again what others had been saying about the SCAN forms not being taken in by their new routeperson - which explains the tracking being totally blank.
Dude just wanted to let the community know he and his crew is "sweating their asses off" filling orders and they hope to be caught up with everything soon. At the time of my call, around 6:30 Eastern time, he informed me they were filling an order in the high 8000 range. If yours is in there somewhere, it's probably shipping soon.
Dude apologized profusely, even going so far as to take responsibility for the poor performance of USPS, which is unreasonable. It's out of his control.
He also reports that they are filling around 100 unique orders per day. Make sure to give them a little patience, as this is probably simply a case of the "reddit hug of death" overwhelming a business temporarily as it experiences some growing pains while it scales up. Don't be afraid to call them for a personal touch of support, as they are awesome about returning calls.
I hope these guys make it big, because they seem to be on top of the customer service and product quality benchmarks.
1)Feel entitled to complain 2)Create complaint thread on Reddit 3) Downvote All the Things 4)Someone else realizes that things aren't so bad - everyone jumped to a negative conclusion 5) Group apology thread reinforcing how good things are.
Its the Circle of Life- with more fedoras. =)

When I have some time away from the order line let's clarify this entire process for everyone!
back to "sweating my ass off"!

so they print the shipping label before they've prepared the package for shipping. is it prohibitive to print the shipping label after the package has been prepared?
i'm really asking.
Kinda splitting hairs. The shipping delay is due to high demand. Their creating a shipping label early has no impact on how soon they ship.
I think you'll find most small companies generate shipping labels as soon as the order is placed. Keeps them from having an additional step between putting stuff in the box and putting the box in the mail.
>Their creating a shipping label early has no impact on how soon they ship.
this isn't at all what i'm talking about
>I think you'll find most small companies generate shipping labels as soon as the order is placed.
i have never experienced this ever (except now, I guess!)
All I'm saying is that printing the shipping label before the package has been prepared for shipping. Or printing the shipping label and then waiting days to actually ship is misleading. It makes me think my package is ready or close to ready. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here for a week waiting for tracking to go from "label printed" to "acceptance." It's frustrating and annoying. I'm fine with shipping delays (TFA had them recently) but just tell me up front.
Also, to clarify a little bit, I placed my order on the 6th. My order number is "in the high 8000 range." My "left the lab" email arrived to me on the 9th, but apparently they didn't actually fill it until yesterday. That's dishonest and misleading.
I guess my experience is pretty limited in retrospect. I own one startup, manage another, and worked for a third in the past. The current two have to do with tobacco. The latter was for ASIC chips.
In all three situations, when a customer orders something inside the general threshold, their information is fed to a shipping engine which determines package weight based on the items going in the box, and spits out a label. Few items require me to actually weigh a box.
I guess I can easily imagine the guys at Nude Nicotine doing the same thing: collecting orders, affixing labels and filling the boxes for pickup by USPS, in that order.
However, just because I did and do it one way doesn't mean that works for them.
It will be worth the wait. I love my kit. They accidentally sent me PG when I requested both bottles VG and they responded to my email within 30 minutes @ 7pm at night and sent me out a VG bottle the next day. I'm a happy customer.
I ordered the evening of the 6th. My tracking # finally had movement overnight after getting my tracking # on Friday... I was about to complain because it's been a week when I paid for 2 day shipping, but whatevs. I get it, its not Jake's fault directly, but as a customer, "I didn't get what I ordered in the time specified".
Hopefully this first order and its delays are a fluke because everyone recommends Nude for their DIY.
edit: tracking on Friday
Wow, this just finally convinced me to pull the trigger on their nic once my 120ml of WL nic finishes.
Might as well order the sample and see if you like it better, even. Things being as they are, shipping might take awhile. For $2.00 shipped you might as well do it now.
I ordered on the 5th too. Apparently my much awaited PG/VG/nic will be here tomorrow. At first, I wanted to be all bent out of shape, but I've really been trying to practice restraint. Amazon (and other larger vendors) has completely spoiled me. I'm like a damn child with internet orders.
On the plus side, it looks like my shipping got upgraded. Either that, or I don't remember paying for 2 day. I'll assume it was NN.
