I need help on creating good ecig juice. I have been doing this for a few months now and while I can create an ok juice that makes big clouds and isn't rough on my throat, I have yet to make one that tastes exceptionally great. Its not that the flavors bad it just isn't strong enough. I've even gone up to 30% flavor and it is still too dull. Here is my basic recipe for a 10ml bottle. 60% (6ml)vg 0-10% (0-1ml) pg depending on how much flavor I use 20-30% (2-3ml) flavor, I think flavor is pg based so in the end im shooting for a around 60-70 vg to 30 to 40 pg ratio. correct me if im wrong 10% (1ml) 100 mg strength nicotine. If i go above 15% it becomes way to harsh to vape, anyway I can fix that? I put them all in a bottle via syringe then shake it up. I have 8 different flavors and have yet to find one that I can REALLY taste not just get a faint flavor of. I use a vision spinner II mini protank 3, could it be my tank can only provide so much flavor? To recap the main things I need help with. 1.)How do I make the flavor strong 2.)How do I go about making higher nicotine contents without hurting my throat and destroying any flavor 3.)Is my tank what is bottle necking the flavor? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
"Overflavoring" can overwhelm your taste buds and have an effect opposite of what you want. Stick to tried and true online recipes until you have a better feel for % and can make your own recipes.
How is your tank with known good commercial juices? If it's fine with those you can rule the tank out.
It sounds like you should maybe try another nicotine vendor. I noticed my nicotine can deaden flavours. You shouldn't be getting a harsh throat hit unless you're vaping higher nic concentration than you're used to.
If you haven't already I'd suggest making small batches of a single flavour at varying percentages. This way you can find the sweet spot. A lot of flavours get muddy or chemically/perfumey at too high concentrations.
The tank itself does not matter. It's the atomizer- a fresh one will give the best flavor. If you can rebuild one with cotton wick, even better.
You're right the tank itself doesn't matter but the overall design of the clearo can make a difference which is more what I meant. If OP switched from a more flavourful device to a protank at the same time as starting to DIY mix then the protank could be part of the problem.
Try finding a good recipe and follow that :)

try some single-tobacco flavor batches. some people hate them, but tobacco flavors are complex and make good DiY using only one flavor. The Flavour Arts base flavors are excellent even at just 2% (let me steep, though).
I had little success in DiY until I started using just one tobacco flavor (FA) at a time.
Also what does TFA mean before the flavors in recipes? And what is this sweetner i keep hearing about? Does it really help sweeten up the mixture?
TFA refers to the brand of flavor, the flavor apprentice, also called TPA, the perfumers apprentice. The brand is important cause different brand of the same flavor will taste different. Some other brand abbreviations are FA flavor art, FW flavor west, LA lorann, CAP Capella, and IW for inawera. Recipes work best if you use the correct brand, but if you don't have the specific brand you can try substituting another one for it. There are different kinds of sweetener. EM in recipes stands for ethyl maltol, which comes in powder form and will add sweetness I think. There's also additives that make stuff sour.
It seems most people use TFA/TPA, anybody have a recommended site I should buy these flavors from?
