I'm taking over the stickied post for a week or so to run a contest for "Best Recipe of 2014". This is not the place to nominate your own creation, but rather the best recipe that you found on this site last year made by another user. Do you have an ADV that you are crazy about? Here's the place to post it. PLEASE FOLLOW THE SUBMISSION FORMAT to make it easier for others to follow!
Format:
"Recipe name" by /u/username
<Flavor> (<Vendor>) @ x%
<Flavor> (<Vendor>) @ x%
<Flavor> (<Vendor>) @ x%
Your description of why you love this recipe should come next

Winner gets... a big internet hug from the rest of us. Also maybe we can do a special flair to indicate the winner. Contest mode is enabled; top level posts not meeting submission rules will be deleted.
Oh and if you're looking for the January recipe thread, it can be found here or in the sidebar.
"Key Lime Pie meant for drippers" by /u/Botboy141
Mixed 91.8% VG
Custard (FA) @ 1.7%
Key Lime (TFA) @ 3%
Pie Crust (TFA) @ 1%
Cheesecake Graham Crust (TFA) @ 2%
Lime Cold-Pressed (Tahiti not distilled) (FA) @ 0.5%
Why I nominated: This is one of those "perfection" recipes that for me captures every element I love about the original. Lime, custard, graham, (you can even taste the condensed milk) - all there and all in the perfect ratio. I've been vaping 50 mls of this every 7-10 days and I absolutely love it.
Changes I made:
I use CAP Vanilla Custard V2 in place of the FA, at the same %
Omitted the FA lime.
*Edited (twice) to follow my own format suggestions.
Probably one of my favorites of the year as well to be honest. At least of the ones I've posted. This and my Apple Pie were probably my favorite two discoveries of 2014.
Wanna point me to the Apple Pie?
I've never tried FA custard so I'm curious as to why you used it rather than the more popular Cappella custard? Does it compliment this recipe better?
It has a hint of lemon to it and is more of a true Italian custard vs CAP's which is more of a US Vanilla pudding type flavor IMO.
I've used both in this recipe and the recipe was more popular among.my testing crowd with FA's.
It's also a stronger flavor, less percentage needed, and when this juice was originally under development, the plan was to offer it in a drip only max VG line. More VG the better =)
I'm going to have to try this now. I tried to make my own key lime pie recipe last night with much higher percentages and it is pretty damn good for one of my first ejuice mixes.
2% CAP graham cracker v2
8% TFA key lime
4.5% CAP vanilla custard v2
1.5% TFA coconut extra
Mixed with only vg at 2mg/ml nic with a couple drops distilled water
I just wanted to reply and let you guys know I mixed this up and holy shit... its seriously delish as fuck. Shocked the amount of flavor it has with the low percentage that's actually in it. mixed up a 30ml to just try it, looks like maybe a 120ml is in my future.
I'll admit it - one of the main reasons I started this thread was to give this recipe more attention. It's just too damn good to not get the acclaim it deserves.
Now having recently tasted Gunner's Gold Awesome Apple Pie, I think botboy is a real master mixer, way out of my league.
Be cautious going to 120ml. The lime does NOT hold up over after about two weeks. Still working on this and hence why it's still 'under development' on my site.
i ordered the supplies for this, i'm trying it.
Edit: I made this last night, it's awesome. NIce job /u/Botboy141.
On a side note, I received a jar of Raspberry Key Lime Jam for Xmas(really good). I may try to ad 1% raspberry to see if that adds another layer of goodness.
If clones count...
/u/fizzmustard 'nana Cream clone
5.0% LA Banana Cream
3.0% TFA Dragon Fruit
7.0% TFA Strawberry
1 drop per mL Citric Acid
Mix at 30pg / 70vg
"The citric acid is an additive on top of the other ingredients. Mix up the flavorings, VG, PG and nic, then add your citric acid on top."
"1.66g (0.25 tsp) of citric acid in 10mL of PG"
I love this one because it never gets old and its in constant rotation. I enjoy it both with and without citric acid. Thanks /u/fizzmustard. I'd recommended using colorless LA Banana Cream
"Tounge Fuck" revision by /u/tet5uo, inspired by /u/i_seen
7% Fruit Circles (TFA)
3% Fresh Cream (FA)
2.5% Berry Crunch (TFA)
2% Bavarian Cream (TFA)
2% Marshmallow (TFA)
1.5% Sweet Cream (TFA)
I really wanted to get onto the Cereal Killa bandwagon, but I couldn't find any in stock. Mixed this up and was blown away on the first pull after a shake. SO CREAMY. SO TASTY. It tastes more like the milk left over at the bottom of the fruitloops bowl than the cereal.
A few weeks later when my CK finally arrived, I loaded it up and it wasn't as good as my firstr tounge fuck experience. I was pretty dissapointed, especially because I'd bought 3 bottles of the stuff thinking it'd be amazing.
Have you compared it to the Cereal Killa Clone? I have both the original Cereal Killa and the clone. In my opinion the clone is significantly better than the original. It's my adv atm and I'm curious how this one stacks up.
I have the cereal flavors waiting in my mailbox, and I have the rest of these flavors on-hand... I do not see that you added any Lemon, which I understand was the secret to getting that signature CK taste? I am going to try 2 batches tonight, your recipe - and this one:
- Fruit circles - 8%
- Berry crunch - 5%
- Lemon meringue Pie 3%
Just mixed this up sans the FA Fresh Cream because I don't have it. I'm sure that it rounds it out and makes it more like your milk after the cereal. But without it, this recipe is pretty excellent right away. Going to let it sit now and see how it turns out in a week or so :)
Did the same thing and used whipped cream in its place. A really good shake and vape with that replacement. That was an ADV for me for a couple of weeks until the fresh cream came in and I mixed up a new batch, then head exploded at how good it became with fresh cream. Definitely makes this juice spectacular.
This one, which was invented by /u/iconoclastmunky
Peanut Butter Cup (all tfa flavors)
8% Peanut Butter
8% Double Chocolate Clear
4% Graham Cracker
2% Marshmallow
1% Lemon juice
Here's the thread where I talked about it a few months ago. It's really fantastic. And after a few weeks, it gets even richer and more flavorful. I always have a few 30 ml bottles of it aging and waiting. https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/1yei3m/peanut_butter_cup_thank_you_for_this_recipe/
This is truly a fantastic recipe (one of the few chocolates I've vaped that I can stand), was this posted this year though or was it late 2013?
Edit: Not that it really matters :-)
Just tried to make this, didn't have lemon juice so I put 2 drops of TFA Sour(malic acid) in a 30ml. HUGE MISTAKE, I guess that stuff is strong, I just get a extremely muted chocolate masked by a chemically sour flavor, remaking without the sour right now until I can get some lemon juice.
I'd love to try that recipe, though i only have DC Dark instead of Clear. How should i adapt the percentages so that i could use DC Dark? Never used the clear stuff, but 8% dark seems a lot to me..
"Cereal Killa Clone" by /u/jackster1232002
2% Hazelnut (FW)
2% Meringue (FA)
1.5% Bergamot (FA)
1% Orange (FA)
1% Sweet Tangerine (CAP)
3% Lemon (FE)
2% Yellow Cake (FW)
This has become an ADV for me. Ever since I had my first cereal vape (Oculus by Northern Lights) I've been crazy about them. That juice was actually what got me started on DIY. This one blows Oculus out of the park
I have been trying to get all of the ingredients to try this for a couple of months, Meringue and Bergamot being the problem ingredients. Finally got them ordered this week. I keep telling myself that those two ingredients constantly being out of stock means I will love this when I finally get to try it. :P
You have to try multiple vendors to get everything. It's obnoxious. The only thing that held me up was the FE Lemon. When that came in stock I bought a decent bit. I ordered enough the other night of everything to make a quart of juice. That'll be happening this weekend haha.
Finally got the last flavors I had been needing to mix this yesterday and mixed a 10ml 'tester' last night. I now know I'm going to need a much larger amount if it is going to have any chance of 'steeping.'
Instead of ordering the FE Lemon (vape budget last month sucked) I used a combination of TPA Lemon at 1% and CAP Lemon Sicily at 2% per jackster's reccomendation. I might have to try the FE Lemon now. :P
This is really high on the list for me. I don't vape it a ton anymore but it helped me realize a lot of helpful things about DIY in general as well as those specific ingredients - I now utilize Meringue, Hazelnut, and Yellow Cake in ways/recipes that I wouldn't have ever thought of before.
Plus its just really damn tasty.
made this last night(4 friggin vendors to get all the supplies), pretty damn good. Can't wait to see what steeping does to it.
This is super duper late, but how apparent is the lemon in this? I don't know if you've tried VapeWild's FruitHoops, but it's what got me interested in trying out CK, but the lemon being a little too strong puts it just out of perfection for me.
I almost want to get into DIY soley so I can give this a shot, but if the lemon is a big note, I might try some different flavors.
It's a key flavor for sure. It blends pretty well with the others though. I'll throw it back on the dripper tomorrow when I'm sober and see how it is with the focus on the lemon for you. I'd do it now but a drunk me isn't a good tester of flavors lol.
Personally, I think the lemon and orange are pretty balanced, but I used the 'alternate' lemon...
and that's the great thing about DIY. One flavor too strong? Just dial it back a little bit.
Thanks for the help! I'm definitely thinking of just buying the starter kit from Nude Nicotine, only thing holding me back is the price on the recomended kitchen scale, I see pocket scales on amazon for like $10 and unless I'm mistaken they're the same in terms of accuracy.

One of the nicest recipes I've tried - really enjoying it, has been an ADV for me for a while and I've just gone and placed a big order specifically to make more of it!
where do i order?????
He meant order flavors for it - but if you would like to try it, without ordering the flavors, you can go to the recipe then click the blue wrench, then click "Order this on VapeCrafter" :)
That recipe is private - Here is et3rn1ty's original :)
"Oreo's Vanilla Custard" by /u/UltimateOreo
>Vanilla Custard (CAP) - 12%
>French Vanilla (CAP) - 5%
>Bavarian Cream (TFA) - 0.6%
>Sweet Cream (TFA) - 0.4%
>Malted Milk (TFA) - 0.4%
>Graham Cracker (TFA) - 0.2%
>Holy Vanilla (DIY Flavor Shack) - 0.2%
>Yellow Cake (FW) - 0.2%
>Cinnamon Sugar Cookie (TFA) - 2 drops per 30ml from 20 gauge syringe
>Orange Cream (TFA) - 1 drop per 30ml from 20 gauge syringe
>New York Cheesecake (CAP) - 1 drop per 30ml from 20 gauge syringe
I absolutely love this mix. I haven't tried a lot of custards, including gremlin's which he was trying to clone, but this is perfect for me. The only problem is I vape so much of it that it really starts to lose some flavor after a few days. But if I could take only one recipe from 2014 it would be this.
I didn't make any changes, but I don't like dealing with drops and small percentages so I make a base with all the flavors under 1%. I think it's right, the calculations made sense to me at the time, but hard to get it exact with the drops in the original recipe.
Base: > PG - 35%
>Bavarian Cream (TFA) - 18%
>Sweet Cream (TFA) - 12%
>Malted Milk (TFA) - 12%
>Graham Cracker (TFA) - 6%
>Holy Vanilla (DIY Flavor Shack) - 6%
>Yellow Cake (FW) - 6%
>Cinnamon Sugar Cookie (TFA) - 2.5%
>Orange Cream (TFA) - 1.25%
>New York Cheesecake (CAP) - 1.25%
Then the recipe becomes:
>Vanilla Custard (CAP) - 12%
>French Vanilla (CAP) - 5%
>Base - 3.33%
Thanks for the nomination! This would be a good time to post my updated recipe!
I've added a flavor, but decreased flavoring overall.
There should be less flavor fatigue, and the juice should taste 'sharper', or more defined if that makes sense.
Plus, the new flavor MAKES this juice.
Based on a 30 mL recipe
14% Flavoring
Vanilla Custard (CAP) - 3mL
French Vanilla (CAP) - .75mL
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TFA) - .15mL
Bavarian Cream (TFA) - .05mL
Sweet Cream (TFA) - .05mL
Malted Milk (TFA) - .05mL
Graham Cracker (TFA) - .03mL
Holy Vanilla (DIY Flavor Shack) - .03mL
Yellow Cake (FW) - .03 mL
Cinnamon Sugar Cookie (TFA) - 2 drops / 30mL
Orange Cream (TFA) - 1 drop / 30mL
New York Cheesecake (CAP) - 1 drop / 30 mL
Enjoy! I like it MUCH better this way.
What calculator can I use to get the percentages?
doing the math gave me this:
-
Van C (CAP) 10%
-
French Van (CAP) 2.5%
-
Van Bean IC (TFA) .5%
-
Bav C (TFA) .167%
-
Sweet C (TFA) .167%
-
Malted Milk (TFA) .166%
-
Graham Cracker (TFA) .1%
-
Holy Vanilla (DIYFS) .1%
-
Yellow Cake (FW) .1%
-
total 13.8%
Drops the rest, 20ga syringe iirc
i imgainge the other .2% comes from the drops
"French Toast" by /u/vapor_trails_nw
- Waffle (TFA) @ 10%
- Vanilla Swirl (TFA) @ 4%
- Cinnamon Danish Swirl (Capella) @ 4%
This is an amazing recipe. It tastes really good right away, so you'll want to make a couple bottles, because when it has steeped it is pure gold. The maple note combine perfectly with the VS and CDS giving a whole that is greater than the sum of it's parts.
I also nominated this recipe because I think Matt deserves some props for his contributions to this sub. I speak personally when I say his TFA recommendations thread was a huge boon to my foray into DIY. Then, when he discontinues a couple of juices from his line due to diacetyl/AP, he gives us the recipes.
This sounds interesting. I don't have TFA Waffle but I do have Capella - have you tried with Cap instead of TFA? What about a different type of vanilla?
> have you tried with Cap instead of TFA?
I haven't tried it with Cap's waffle, as I don't own it.
Mix up a small batch. I can't imagine that it'll be unvapable. If you still don't like it after a few weeks, you can toss it. That's why you start with a small batch.
> What about a different type of vanilla?
Go for it! That's what makes DIY awesome. You may find that you've created something that you like better than the original recipe.
At some point, you should get these exact flavors and mix this up. It's amazing.

5.0% TFA Banana Cream
3.0% TFA Banana Nut Bread

This juice has seriously ruined vaping for me. I have a fairly extensive collection of juice, and I used to swap throughout the day. No longer. This is my all day-- everyday morning to night vape and has been for months. I tried to go back to my other juices, nope. I have all this DIY stuff that I got over the holidays collecting dust, haven't touched it, don't need it. This stuff is that good.
Anyways :) huge shouts to /u/project_twenty5oh1 for the time and effort put into this masterpiece and sharing it with the world (if you don't have the means to make this yourself, drop him a PM and I'm sure you can work around getting some sent to you)
Cheers!
What is DK Base? Is there anything I can sub for it, because I have everything else in your list.
Tobacco, which flavors vary quite a bit. Not sure if it would be noticeable if you swapped it for something else. The tobacco flavor doesn't come out in the final flavor of the juice, but adds an earthy tone IMO.
Aw shucks, thank you for the kind words. So glad you're enjoying it :)
> This juice has seriously ruined vaping for me. I have a fairly extensive collection of juice, and I used to swap throughout the day. No longer. This is my all day-- everyday morning to night vape
this. exactly this. i haven't even looked at my other supplies. i just wish i could buy icicles concentrate instead of the mixed juice.
Cant be that hard to mimic the icicles effect? Its probably 10-20% menthol crystals with a little koolada? I've never had it on its own. Is it mint or menthol?
it's not a huge deal. i just get icicles in 0mg nic from axiom and use it at 5% in the recipe in place of the 1% "strong mint or menthol" because icicles is 20% flavor so 5% of the juice gets me 1% of icicles.
/u/project_twenty5oh1 told me that his original posted recipe was incorrect. He told me that the TFA Banana Cream is supposed to be 4%
adjust PG (or VG, but I'd use PG for the ratio to be the same) to compensate
No kidding...you'd think he'd edit his original post! Thanks for the heads up. I haven't actually tried my hand at this recipe yet, I get it right from the source.
I'd like to try some of his, since I don't have the stir plate he uses, but I mixed some up and set it on my stove (the pilot lights on the gas stove keep it a nice warm temp without actually heating it past what would be safe) and shook it every few hours, and it turned out really damn good.
I love Nanner Bear, and I'll probably continue to buy it on occasion, but I can't afford to buy as much as I need (ADV) so this hits the spot for me on the daily.
I also think that I might try a "dank-ier" tobacco in this mix to give it a more musty/earthy taste. I love the way that the tobacco comes through in this but my taste could use a little more.
I just read (and replied) to someone who mixed TFA RY4 and RY4 Extra together at 5% each and it apparently takes the perfuminess out of the RY4 and the caramel out of the RY4 extra and leaves a very "cigarette tobacco" flavor that doesn't need a long steep time (4 days or so). Maybe adding that in might be an interesting variation.
