How much have you spent on flavors?
submitted over 10 years ago by sevarMixologist

As a newbie to this whole thing, I find it alarming sometimes that I need SO MANY different flavors. Many brands and each brand has many flavors, sometimes there are 3 or 4 different strawberries within a brand!

So, just as a spot check, how much have you spent on flavors so far?

I will start it off with a $89.

I still think I could use like 30-40 more flavorings x.x

Are you the seduce juice? I should have mentioned that I was wondering about folks who don't do this for a trade. :)

Over the last 19 months. $680 I took me a while to find what I liked. It would seem I'm a Inewara and Medicine Flower type of guy and I only recently found out... Too bad since I have a full selection of TFA and LA flavors now.

I have an addiction, I need one or more of everything. When I first started DIY there was a month I spent over $500 in flavorings, bases, etc. Now I spend $20-30 a month typically. Over the time I have been mixing I would guess I am probably nearing $1000 in supplies.

Time to place another order...

As long as there aren't any adverse consequences, its not an addiction.

Consequence #1: Empty wallet

Consequence #2: My workshop is so crammed with supplies that I can't use it for a workshop

I get a lot of them for free. When someone wants a flavor I get them to pay for it and make them a bottle or two and keep what's left for personal use. All I buy for myself is my adv's (4oz bottles) and samples for an occasional recipe I find intriguing.

This is the way to do it. I started with about 3 flavors and my buddy wanted a Baja blast flavor. Found a recipe and got him to order the stuff. Tweaked it here and there and gave him about 5 free bottles to make up for the ~$50 cost of them.

I am a little over a month in and I am now at around $200 I am still working on finding a true ADV. Once I find those flavors I truly love I can calm down a bit. I vape about 15+ ml a day too so that has to be taken into account but it is still cheaper because at 15ml a day I was spending roughly 60-75 a week buying premade flavors.

Yeah, that's my hope too :|

Probably close to 300 in 3 months. I have about 20 4oz tfa. And about 50 smaller samples. Another 200 probably in bottles and vg / nic. Ive probably made it all back +50ish from selling to friends though so it dosent hurt too bad restocking everything.

Mixing my own liquids for the past year and a half, I'd say perhaps 500€. TFA bulk department is from where I get them these days.

About £500 over 18 months, at a guess. Still a ton cheaper than buying pre-made though.

$1800 on my flavour lab so far, but that includes some pretty crazy postage prices to Australia.

I remember you from the medicine flower thread. That sounds expensive, but looks likes it will last you forever :)

Nah, most of it is gone and inhaled.

This year around $600 I guess. Primarily Flavour Art - though also a bit of Capellas, TPA and a few others.

Wow, that's good. I kinda feel like I should have spent another week researching stuff before I ordered.

by Botboy141over 10 years agoAlmost caught up on orders...

Thousands...although when mixing for myself, first couple orders were in the $150 range. Had a full line up of TFA before I moved on and picked up a full line up of FA, then most of CAP, FW, LA, INW, HS...

I'd guess as someone mixing tons of himself and friends/family, I had spent maybe $1500 in the first 6 months on flavors...

I don't feel so bad about wanting a few more flavors now... I think its a conspiracy on TFA etc's part. They just have so freaking many...

Not counting miscellaneous purchases like the LA Banana Cream group buy or some bulk TFA, I've made three main purchases of flavorings and qualified for free shipping on all of them. In six months.

I don't even want to know at this point. :P

I really don't know and I really don't want to find out. It's a lot.

I'd say for 2014 I'm at about $1200, but I could be off by $100+/-.
