I just ordered some unflavored juice for MT baker. I have never done DIY juice.
Is there a "starter kit" of flavoring? What I mean is that everyone has salt, pepper, garlic, etc in their kitchen for food. Is there a essential list of flavors to have that are commonly used for several juice flavors? If so buying sources would be appreciated as well
If you think HIC's recipes look good, then this list I made would be a good starting point. It's a break-down of the most used flavors for his recipes. But check out some recipes to make sure you're ordering the right stuff ;)
Oh, and Flavour Art's flavors are amazing. If you like fruits, you should get their white peach, forest fruit and papaya too!
I know you ordered a bunch of FA recently, what are your favorite HIC things you have made so far?
To be honest it depends on what you like to vape, I dig the fruit flavours so I wish I had started with:
Bavarian cream
Juicy peach
Strawberry (ripe)
Pineapple
Mango
Coconut
Banana (ripe)
Watermelon
Dragon Fruit
Smooth
Ethyl maltol (cotton candy from TFA)
Sweet raspberry
French vanilla (debatable, maybe vanilla swirl?)
Cheesecake (graham crust)
Vanilla custard
Sweet cream
Pretty well all of those are available from TPA and I would recommend ordering directly from them if you go that route. I know other people like bakery and tobacco juice more than fruit so their lists would look a little different. I ordered a shitload of flavours that I don't use at all now and I regret it. Another thought is to find some recipes that sound good, or clone recipes of juices you know and love and buy those flavours. Good luck!
What type of stuff do you use the smooth in? I have debated ordering some, but I don't really know where it makes a difference
Check out what people write about it in the notes for it here. Gives a pretty idea of what it's used for. If there's a bold flavour that I want to tone down to bring out the more subtle flavours in a recipe I'll use it. I'm still experimenting but it seems useful. Worth having around for sure.
These are the ones I seem to have used the most just starting off fwiw:
Bavarian cream
vanilla swirl
vanilla custard (cap)
strawberry ripe
blueberry wild
coconut extra
graham cracker clear
cinnamon roll (fw)
dulce de leche
peanut butter
marshmallow
Similar to /u/stateek 's list, but there are a few good clone recipes that use those that I fall back on when I get frustrated with my personal creations
