OK so here it goes, I have been trying to clone this one from the beginning of my DIY journey. First I started with the existing clones and they all called for FA or TFA which were just totally off. I gave up for a while, learned quite a bit from this sub and all of the wonderful members, most notably /u/Botboy141, /u/Kriga, and /u/fizzmustard.
Not wanting to give up, I ended up ordering every vendors version of Strawberry, Raspberry, Pineapple, and Mango. After countless combinations and tweaking. I think I finally nailed it. Doing an A/B taste test with a 6 month old bottle of the real thing, which happens to be my last purchase of retail juice. I think it is spot on. I have ordered a fresh bottle of the real thing just to confirm but it wont be here until the end of the week. One note, Nicoticket has always stated that this will gunk up your coils a bit due to the sweetener, but the sweetener is crucial to the final product. The vendor has even stated "It's unavoidable because that particular blend of sweetener provides the taste you love, I dare not remove it - but it's problematic for coils in clearos".
Sweet Strawberry (CAP) 6%
Golden Pineapple (CAP) 5%
Raspberry (CAP) 5%
Sweet Mango (CAP) 3%
Sweetener (Sucralose) I used TFA @ 0.50% which is around 3-4 drops per 15ml. (Edited this as I incorrectly had it at 0.75%, sorry)
PG/VG Ratio = 65/35 to match the original
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Looks good, I'll probably mix this up today. I have several revisions of my own floating around, none quite right. I had ruled out the GP for being a bit bland, but maybe tons of sweetener is the answer there.
I'm pretty sure Kent is a Capella's fan, based on his offerings... maybe even near exclusively, outside of his NETs and VB extractions. I have a pretty good WiP Gravity clone: 5% each of Cap's Sweet Tangerine, Pomegranate, and Cranberry, 3% each of FA White Peach and TFA Juicy Peach, and 2% Citric Acid.
Thank you, please let me know what you think. I do still have some Gravity floating around but I have not touched it in months, I will have to grab the Pomegranate and Cranberry on my next order and give yours a go. I do agree that Kent does seem to be a big Capella fan, kind of makes me wonder if he used a blend of CAP Juicy Peach and Yellow Peach in Gravity, but I don't know if Yellow Peach was even available when Gravity came out.
Got around to making this last Friday and just tried it now. It's pretty much spot on. Same room note and everything. I had been moving away from Cap's GP and Sweet Mango, but in this ratio and sweetener level it works. Thanks a ton. EDIT: Mixed at 65/35 PG/VG like Nicoticket, may be significant. All my experiments thus far were 50% VG or greater and had a "diet" taste to them. I assumed it was the sucralose, but it's not as noticeable in this mix, even with there being more of it.
Awesome, thank you very much for the feedback. I am just lucky that I randomly stumbled on to Kent's comment about the sweetener or I think I would have been lost forever.
I wish I could get ahold of some Queen of Harts, should be an easy clone. I had some before I started to DIY, and it is definitely has a cap's sweet watermelon base.
I wonder how this would be if I swap out the Sweet Strawberry for TFA's Ripe, the Raspberry for TFA's Sweet Raspberry and the Sweet mango for TFA's Mango, I only have the GP but this sounds pretty tasty.
I tried with TFA in the beginning and while it will be vapable and probably tasty, unfortunately it will not be anywhere close to the original.
Aw hell yes two clones in two days! This must be a record. Don't forget to crosspost to the clones thread if you haven't!
Can't wait to try it. Need to place an order for the Pineapple though. Thanks for your work on this!
Fantastic I can't thank you enough I'd love the original since I first tested it and only just recently been drawn to making my own liquids as the cost of the original has been quite prohibitive. Now with this recipe I can finally vape my favourite liquid all day everyday.
I really can't thank you enough this clone is amazing!!
And bonus points for the Archer reference.
