I learned the hard way that, even a smidgen of honey dew will basically over power every single other flavour. So use a dedicated syringe for those super powerful/floral flavours, giving them a quick wash might not suffice!
Currently sitting on several 10ml bottles with a slight honey dew melon flavour to them! Amateur!
You don't even have to mix a batch of honeydew to make it your ADV. Just drip one drop of honeydew on your wick, let it sit, then rinse it off. Now every e-liquid is honeydew flavored... Forever! Until you smash the Atty and bury it under an oak tree during the new moon...
You are so completely right. I feel like having it in the same room is enough to contaminate everything.
I used a drip tip from testing honey dew on my magma.... that alone overpowered my mothers milk clone....
I think I need an exorcist.
Or mix by weight and never have that issue.

I have a dedicated syringe per flavoring, regardless of the strength (well...ok...I might share some like 'vanillas' and 'strawberries' - although I rinse thoroughly after each use.)
Picked up a box of 100 syringes with 21ga needles for $20 from Farm and Fleet. Just be careful, they're not blunt tipped!
I'm thinking right now I'm better off just going with weight mixing. I thought it was going to be a simple DIY setup for me.... but now I have 45 flavours and piles of bottles... sigh my poor wallet.
I guess I wasn't clear - I do by-weight mixing, but I don't want to risk flavor contamination, so I use a syringe per flavor.
When I go to mix a particular recipe, I set the flavors out in front of me in a little stand I've made, I set the syringes out for each flavor, tare the bottle on my scale, grab a syringe, draw flavor into the syringe (approximate amount,) drip drip drip until I hit my weight, put the remainder of the flavoring in the syringe back in the bottle, close it up, put that syringe down, tare the scale, and move onto the next flavor. Once it's done, I cap it the bottle, shake the heck out of it, and drop it into my ultrasonic cleaner that's filled with hot water. I set my flavors back into their spots on the shell, recap the syringes, and put them back too. Get a label ready, and by the time the ultrasonic is done with a cycle, the juice is warm. I shake the bejesus out of it again, the heat and shaking dries the bottle. I slap the label on. I may drip it right away to get my initial tasting impressions.
I feel your wallet's pain - I'm in full hobby mode, improving processes, acquiring equipment to improve and streamline my processes, buying all sorts of flavors I've never thought to try before (been playing with Boysenberry in the last couple days,) and wondering why I ever try to justify these hobbies to myself by saying "I'll save money!" ;)
But.. but... that's so overcomplicated. If you use bottles with dropper tips like we generally use for juice, you can just drop your flavours into your mixing bottle. No mess, no cross contamination, no syringes to worry about. It's a huge time saver, too.
The only time it requires thought is really an edge case, and that's when using flavourings so potent that a drop can be too much. My solution (if you'll pardon the pun) to this is to premix the flavouring diluted in PG so that it's a more normal strength. Then I drip it into the mixing bottle as normal, adjusting the percentage used. This is an easy way to use flavourings at say 0.25% or 0.5%, while maintaining the weight precision by having 2-5x the volume.
Am i the only one that uses a dedicated 1ml syringe for each flavor? Store them next to each flavor vial, in holes I drilled into a sheet of black packing foam. Never have to worry about cross-flavor contamination!
