TVC Black pompom clone
submitted almost 11 years ago by Skiller66

Been working on a few clones of recipes that I like and black pompom has been my ADV for a few months now. I think I have it close based on a few DIY recipes, but wondering if maybe there's a flavor I'm missing. Right now I mix 70/30 VG/PG at:

TFA pomegranate 9% TFA black currant 8% TFA lemon 3% TFA sour 1% TFA sweetener 1% 1 drop of lemon juice per ml

Thoughts?

It's pretty much identical to the one I've been using that was posted by Calcobra98 at ECF:

The vapor chef - black pompom - 6mg nicotine
Black Currant Flavor TFA - 9%
Pomegranate Flavor TFA - 8%
Lemon (water soluble) Flavor TFA - 2%
Sweetener TFA - 1%

Tastes delicious!

Tried my hand at Black POMPOM tonight. Wizard Labs PG / VG (65/35 after a year of max VG I discovered I like this mix better.)

Black Currant Flavor TFA - 9%

Pomegranate Flavor TFA - 8%

Lemonade Flavor LA - 2%

Sour Flavor TFA - 1%

Not spot on for Black POM POM but very tasty.

way too much flavoring imo. I don't know how people can vape shit when it's like 20% flavoring, that has to be extremely unhealthy, and not to mention expensive. I never use more than 5% total flavorings in any of my recipes.

I would do this: 3% pom, 2% blackcurrant, 1% lemon and forget all the rest of that shit. Have you ever tasted PG or VG just straight up? It's already super sweet, I doubt adding 1% sweetener does anything for your juices except gunk up your coils faster.

I usually make single flavor test mixes at 5%. It's almost never enough - even in a low subohm dripper. I couldn't imagine a complex blend tasting like much at 5% total flavoring.

What makes you think it would be unhealthy as compared to a lower flavoring percentage? Also you seem a bit aggressive in your opinion for this subreddit.

This is ignorant. Everyone has a different pallet and VG/PG ratios and the device that is being used to vape with plays huge factors in flavor percentage. Mixing juice is not black and white, thats the whole point of it. To find recipes YOU enjoy vaping, not everyone else necessarily. I make max VG juices and all my flavors are between 15-20% because that's how I like it and I run below .2 ohms so I just like alot of flavor.

He said in his opinion, he wasn't telling everyone that they need to do this. As someone who also prefers lower flavor concentrations I value his input

Now, now. Don't bring common sense into this downvote fest.

I've noticed that the amount of flavoring needed varies greatly depending on which flavors I'm using. My fruit based recipes are anywhere from 6 to 20 percent flavoring but I made a plain cheesecake recipe using 2% flavoring, I only vape max vg on a dripper.
