I'm the owner of SZVapor, and a few months back I released a spiced custard named King Custard. I wanted to make a sweet analog to it called Queen Bee, swapping spice for sweets. It never came to fruition due to poor pre-release reviews, so I'd like to share the recipe with everyone.
5.25% FW Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
3% FW Vanilla Custard
1.75% FW Eggnog
3% FW Vanilla Cupcake
0.5% FW Dulce de Leche
4% FW Honey
0.5% FW Brown Sugar
-0.25% Eggnog and Vanilla BIC, +0.5% FW Sweet Cream also proved to be good, YMMV
Prerelease reviews were split between delicious and "tastes like tobacco", so I scrapped the idea. I try to make flavors that are good without sweetener, and then add sweetener if it benefits the flavor. For QB, it required sweetener, and I was averse to this idea. A prerelease reviewer tinkered a bit and found adding 1% TPA sweetener fixed it and he said it was a stellar offering, so it might be wise experimentation.
edit; by tastes like tobacco, I mean bitter. I could never figure it out. The only flavor here that was new to me was the cupcake, so it might be the culprit. To me, it tastes like a slightly sweet funnel cake custard, almost with a maple syrup top. The sentiment wasn't unanimous, and I couldn't figure out how to balance it so it tasted great to everyone.
