Felt in the Pumpkin mood so I mixed this up:
- 1.75% Pumpkin (LA)
- 4% Cinnamon Danish Swirl (CAP)
- 2% Sweet Cream (TFA)
- 4% Bavarian Cream (TFA)
- 4% Custard (FA)
- 0.5% Vanilla Bourbon (FA)
Tastes pretty good, though I think it will benefit from dropping the pumpkin to 1% and some days steeping.
Strange thing is this is another of those mixes that went cloudy on me. Hour in the ultrasonic bath didn't clear it up either.
I wonder which compound it is that's causing the strange emulsion..
I've danced with that Lorann Pumpkin, and I can tell you... don't get too close! <1%...
It's likely the pumpkin or custard reacting with something, or not being easily miscible with glycerin. They're the only ones in your list I don't have and use regularly.
It really doesn't matter though. I don't know what started this concern about some blends being a bit turbid. If you know your ingredients are fine, it's almost always a case of them just not mixing as easily with glycerin as you'd hope. It won't affect the final product beyond appearance.
Yeah, As it's not changing my taste, I'm all good with cloudy.
Interesting though.
The only other time I've seen this is when I tried to mix a little VG with some Suicide Bunny Derailed to cut the nic and flavor down.
FW Lemonade clouds like crazy. It gets this pearlescent weirdness to it that almost looks obscene. Vapes fine, but it's one to shake before use, even if it's been sitting awhile.
There's a cherry flavour that does the same thing, but I forget which brand now.
It is interesting stuff. Maybe I mistook your title, I've seen a few people making wild claims about how "you shouldn't vape anything cloudy, ever" and was concerned it was about that myth.
That is a shit ton of flavoring. What if you cut all of that in half ?
Yeah mostly the pumpkin is taking the whole thing hostage. I'm sure I can reduce the rest no problem once it's tamed.
The real strangeness is how it made the mix look so odd and cloudy.
Shoot for 10% flavoring at most.
As for the odd look, try mixing combinations of the flavors together. One is reacting with another flavor or the nicotine. Check pH maybe?
> Shoot for 10% flavoring at most.
You can't apply that logic to all brands. Some like FW you end up with closer to 20%, some like Inawera you can get away with less than 5%. There is no best limit when mixing brands, and 16.25% isn't really excessive. Most guidelines I've seen that try to cover it all say max 20% for flavouring, although as I said, that would be excessive for some brands.
