Can we have a non-PG recipe thread?
submitted almost 11 years ago by loud_car

I'm sure there are a few of us that came here due to PG allergies/ sensitivities. It's still tough for us, as so many flavors are PG based. Anyways, I can kick us off by giving you my go-to.

CranGrape

  • 4% CAP Grape
  • 2.5% TFA Cranberry

It's extremely simple but it reminds me of VCV's Catherine The Grape. Even though that uses black currant and not cran. I would still like to clone that juice though.

edit: sp

edit: There is now an option to tag your post as 100% VG Recipe.

I don't know why so many people use PG.... Team VG!!

I am not allergic but it does make my stomach feel gross, and dehydrates me considerably. Plus I find the taste disgusting. Unfortunately I still use PG because it is in the base of my flavors, it is not enough to really notice though.

I definitely eliminate PG whenever I can because I don't like the idea of anything very unfriendly going into my lungs.

Is PG unfriendly to the lungs? I know very little about how it affects them. I feel like the best way to avoid unfriendly things going into the lungs is to avoid inhaling anything besides normal air. I mean honestly is there any actual study on vaping that represent the reality of the modern vaper? For example; a mech mod with a sub-ohm dripper and diy e-juice and an assortment of flavors, etc.

Not sure why every post reply is being downvoted, but I went through and upvoted everything because of it. I don't have a pg sensitivity but having worked at a b&m, I completely understand how important it is to have all vg juice!

I didn't notice that was happening. Oh well. We got a new flair option out of this thread. You can now tag your post as 100% VG Recipe. I hope people start using it :)

Are you sensitive to pg yourself? Does it bother you if people around you are vaping stuff with pg?

I am sensitive. It has no effect on me if people around me are vaping it. My girlfriend vapes 50/50 most of the time. When I vape it I get a really scratchy throat that I can. not. clear. Doesn't really go away until I stop vaping for a couple hours.

This is a great idea! My ADV right now is:

5% Yellow Peach CA
4% Sweet Guava CA

I only vape max VG juices, too much PG makes me break out and I get wheezy for some reason. VG recipes for the win.

Is that CA Capella? Thanks for the recipe!

Yes! No problem, its simple but oh so fuzzy and delicious. The only time i preferred PG is when I was using EGO style batteries and 24mg nicotine lol. The ultimate throat hit recipe

Awesome, thanks again. What other flavors would you recommend?

You should have a non-pg flair so you can filter.

With non-pg, are you using a lot of juice with ethyl alcohol?

Yeah that's usually the base for my flavors. I've tried VG based flavors but they weren't very concentrated at all. Practically just add nic and go. How do I get that flair?

If the mods have it enabled, there will be a link under your post once you submit it. If you don't see this option, you should message them and request it. I use flair for filtering over at /r/vapeheads and love it.

Just got it added. Now how do I go about filtering?
