I vaguely recall trying Voltage something like 4-5 years ago, don't really remember what it tasted like though. If nobody's got a recipe, a description of it might help, especially if you can name what notes are in there beyond those that are also in regular Mtn Dew.

Best way to go from there if no help comes would be to experiment starting with low percentages of each of component you recognize in there with a bit of a regular Dew flavor (e.g. ~5% TFA Citrus Punch), see what develops and go from there.

Sorry I can't really help more, closest recipe I have is going for Baja Blast and that's still something of a work in progress, only got around to mixing v0.4 a couple nights back and that just about cleared me out of TFA Citrus Punch. :(

I recall tasting berries and grapes in voltage. Raspberry, blueberry and maybe concord grapes? I'm not the best at identifying flavors however. Please, let me know when you get the Baja blast down! It's the only reason I eat taco bell:)

I've already made a post about v0.1 through v0.3, and here's v0.4 for ya:

  • 5% TFA Citrus Punch
  • 3% Cap Cantaloupe
  • 3% TFA Coconut Extra
  • 2.5%TFA Pineapple
  • 1.5% MBV Key Lime

My wife's convinced it's spot on but TBH her taste isn't that discerning (she did marry me after all!). I think it's definitely closer than it was in any of the previous iterations, and it tastes closer to on target in one of her MPT2s than it does in my KFL+, but it's not nailed down yet.

Sadly I don't know how long it'll be before I can go at it again - like I said I'm just about out of TFA Citrus Punch after that last mix, not sure when I'll be getting more just yet, and I only get the real thing about once or twice a month since the nearest Taco Bell is a 45 minute drive away from me.

Thanks! Sounds really good. I don't have key lime or cantaloupe, but I'll definitely be ordering some soon!

This is the closest I've come:

10% TFA Citrus Punch

5% TFA Blueberry Extra

3% TFA Key Lime

I like lime, you might want to tone it down to 2% or less if it is too much for you.

I saw this posted a few weeks ago that's supposed to be a Baja Blast, hopefully it will help you. I haven't got to try it yet.

Citrus Punch 8%

Blueberry Wild 8%

Key Lime 2%

Menthol .125%

All TFA

That tastes nothing like Baja Blast to me. The Citrus Punch is too biting, having a noticeably awful aftertaste, the Blueberry Wild is okay, but it's really suppressed by all the citrus going on. Key Lime, on top of Citrus Punch, to me, just seems like overkill. I've tried several of these Baja Blast recipes before and not a single one has tasted like actual Baja Blast.

Good to know. Now i won't waste my time on it

I disagree as to why it's off - key lime on top of citrus punch is IMO necessary it's the level of citrus punch in the above recipe that's overkill - the thing that really rubs me wrong is the blueberry in it. Here's what I've tried so far (not counting the blueberry ones):

Baja Ráfaga|v0.1|v0.2.1|v0.2.2|v0.3|v0.4 ---|:--:|:--:|:--:|:--:|:--: TFA Citrus Punch|5%|7%|7%|10%|5% TFA Honeydew|3%|2%|2%|-|- CAP Canteloupe|-|-|-|4%|3% TFA Coconut Extra|3%|1%|-|3%|3% TFA Coconut Candy|-|3%|5%|-|- TFA Pineapple|2.5%|2%|2%|1%|2% MBV Key Lime|1.5%|1%|1%|2%|1.5%

Last time I had Baja Blast was last week, sadly it's not something I can have that often (try to avoid sugar so can't really stock up on what's in stores, diet's only available at Taco Bell and nearest is ~45 minutes away), but after the most recent tasting I'm pretty much convinced there's a necessary note there that's about 95% covered by the cantaloupe. Mixed v0.4 just a couple nights back, not quite there but getting closer IMO.

If you've got any ideas I'd love to hear 'em!

I really like it, just me though. A bit harsh with nic in it though. Had to let it airate for a bit. I'm pretty sure it was just

Citrus Punch 7%

Orange Cream 7%
