Artificial pear flavor is usually a lovely chemical called Isoamyl Acetate mixed with other things. Isoamyl Acetate is also used for banana flavors. It's great at destroying things that are made of plastic.

In the amount used in juice, haven't heard anything definitive, but I know that plastic syringes definitely do not like it. Very well could have had a hand in that.

It did seem to effect my syringes a bit, interesting.

Yeah I don't use plastic except for testing signature blends, none of mine contain pear. Like Slovak said, definitely doesn't like syringes so it may...

I've used TFA Pear quite a bit and haven't had any issue with my plastic syringes or mini vivi nova tanks, but I usually use it between .5 and 4%

Probably got lucky. Only used it in plastic once, since it started sticking right away after I pulled some into it. It isn't a flavor I've heard of as specifically hating plastic, but u have seen random reports of honey pearry having a little snack

Based on my numerous google searches I'm pretty sure you're the first person on the internet to say this.

It's a really strong flavor so maybe most people just aren't using enough of it to crack tanks but it has ruined every syringe I've ever left it in.

Whoever told you it doesn't crack tanks lied to you =(

I have it at over 10% in a number of mixes and I've never had an issue. You sure you didn't drop that or overtighten the connecting sections?

Those plastic tanks are extremely easy to crack. I broke mine the first time I used it. I have ordered some replacements because I want a clear tank and I'm a ham fisted idiot.

Screwing plastic to metal like that can crack them even after you have tightened it and used it. A fast change of temperature can do it. If it's cool from sitting and you heat it up quickly it's possible to crack the tank. That is a tip from a friend who did it last week. He left it in his car overnight and it was 50F and he fired it up on the way to work and the tank crack from the threads on the bottom where the coil heated up the metal.

That's why I'm confused it's not mentioned that it cracks tanks anywhere but my mixes have claimed two PC tanks. The first one was much less violent though.

That's the first I hear of it. Odd. I'm gonna try to look for others. I haven't seen TPA Pear on any lists.

What else is in your mix?

It was 5% Millstone and 8% TFA Pear. It did just come out of a hot water bath when I filled the tank, could that have caused it?

Yeah it's not a definitive list, but usually if I see the same flavoring from a different manufacturer I tend to stay away from it plastic tanks just to be safe. Sorry about your tank!

I'm adding it to ELR.

TFA Pear never cracked any of the plastic sections in my kayfuns. I have some Snake oil in one as I speak (Pear at 9%). However, I don't ever use the full plastic M tanks. If you don't want to use the full stainless body of the kayfun, try the glass tanked Eleaf Lemo. It is very kayfun like, pretty much a worked over clone with up to 2-3 times the airflow (adjustable) and IMO it is way better than any fogger currently out.
