There is no safe way to be obese, lady.

Back when I was on analogs and Ohio was passing the indoor smoking ban, two chubbos were sitting at a table outside the library and wanted me to sign the petition. I told then something to the effect of "after the health police have come for the smokers, they're going to go after the obese" and walked away.

At the risk of sounding like a sjw here, the best way to protect your rights isn't by attacking other people. Attack her and the petition people's viewpoints all you want, but attacking their appearance (which has nothing to do with this) is just tacky and low. this isn't /r/fatpeoplehate.

No, you are right and a personal attack isn't the way to go, which is why I left my rant to Reddit and didn't comment on her page. It is kind of a low blow. But what bugs me is someone who obviously has no concerns for her own health commenting on what's best for mine.

I once had a doctor who told me (when I was smoking and about 40 lbs overweight), "the drunkard outlives the smoker, and the smoker outlives the glutton." It was his way of telling me I'd picked the wrong vices. Since then, I've lost that 40, quit the analogs, and still enjoy a nice toot from time to time.
