Just remember you don't cook in a volumetric a volumetric flask is for general mixing and titration. You wouldn't apply heat to a volumetric flask. That's what a boiling flask is for.

Everything I know about chemistry I learned from breaking bad.

Alright, what joker convinced this man to buy a flask?

I am pretty sure that was a starter mixing kit from wizard labs.

I use mine all of the time

Hahahaha! I don't use it for measuring, but for outing everything into because I find that it's easiest to both swirl around and to stir in. Beyond that, I would never try and measure anything in it!

I've been a member of the ecigarette forum for a long time and I wasn't sure if I could post this on my own. I didn't see a daily pics thread though so, tell me if I did wrong. Wizard Labs for the win!

Good luck with your DiY journey. Assuming you've read the sidebar content and the wiki, feel free to ask if you have any questions not answered there or with a simple search.

Welcome to /r/diy_ejuice

Thanks! I've gone over the sidebar, but will probably do so again another 5 times or so. :)

Good luck man, may I suggest picking up some glass 30ml bottles and more variety of syringes. When I firsted started it was a lot of trial an error in small batches. Unit I got it right and did big batches.

I got some glass syringes in a separate order (3x2ml and 1x10ml) and I've been saving my bottles from past vendor purchases (I think I have about 40 now?) but could use a lot more 15ml. I'm still doing 5ml test batches for the most part right now. I'm sure I'm still going to need to buy more bottles though. I stopped collecting them and got rid of a bunch because I thought I was good. Definitely not the case!

Oh right on! You are off to a great start. I was thrown off by the graduated cylinders and beakers. Thought you were Walter White-ing and making large batches.

...Hmmm...

I am jealous I wanted beakers but I am too cheap so I bought shitty syringes.

I figured it was worth it since they were only a few bucks, but so far I've noticed that they're best for large volume and I use the syringes way more anyway. I can't imagine I would use them for anything other than when I'm mixing the nicotine solution together. I don't think I'll be making huge batches of one juice that will require my 100ml. :)

Amazon has a great three set of erlenmeyer flasks for nine bucks. I love mine and use them more than I thought I would.. Would link for you but am on my kindle.

woo hoo! good luck on your journey.

one quick tip I will give you is that the heavy VG blends (looks like that is where you are headed as I don't see any PG in that pic besides the flavors) tend to stick to the glass of those flasks.

oddly enough, the plastic pieces that Wiz Labs sells seem to be a bit hydrophobic? and the pg/vg will bead up and roll right out of those.

source : I have both, I have experienced both many times.

just something to keep in mind, that if your flavor is sticking to the glass, when you pour into a bottle, it may be a little less than what you anticipated, but if you use the same gear every time, your recipes will eventually be based on that gear and should work just fine for you in the long run.

Thanks! I actually forgot that I had bought the nicotine in a vg solution. I thought I had ordered it in pg. Also thought I had added pg to the order. This is just a case of me not paying attention! I'm not huge into 100% pg. Nothing wrong with it, but I know a lot of people will only cape 100% vg. I usually go for around 50/50 or 70/30.

That's kinda how I started too. Except I did the old school one of everything approach. The glassware is good for conversation these days but, I don't use it or wizard labs much anymore. Now it's nicotine and some flavors from Bullcityvapes. VG/PG from amazon and everything else from Inawerashop and all mixed with droppers and a scale. Now mixing is so quick and easy I can make a bottle and cleanup faster then most people can make a cup of coffee.

I think I'll probably use Wizard Labs a lot longer. I order online and later that day I go pick the order up. They're 20 minutes from my house. Way too convenient not to do it that way. Definitely going to order flavors from other places though.

No worries. I don't hate the Wizard. I love his packaging but they always seem out of stock. I can tolerate that for a little while but spending weeks hitting refresh is not my idea of a good time. That said I feel a little burned by their choice of flavorings. Lorann and TFA make some of the worst flavorings for a beginner available. 90% are absolute garbage and seedman flavors are only relevant to those who know how to use them and useless to everyone else. Mt. Baker built an empire on Flavor West flavorings and Flavorart really knows about blending flavors while you will be hard pressed to find a terrible flavor from Inawera or Hangsen. And Cappella is so diluted it's probably the most expensive option available and mostly useful for clone recipes. And since I mix by weight I prefer my flavorings in dropper bottles which are available from everyone but, WizardLabs. Like I said. No hate for the Wizard or your choices but, after 2years of mixing with an almost unlimited budget has taught me some expensive lessons and most of the "Junk" I don't use has a WizardLabs label.

Thanks for the opinions on the other flavoring companies. It's easy to find opinions on flavors, but I rarely see anything about the companies.
