Could it just be air bubbles suspended in your VG?
When I give my mixes their first good shake by hand it seems like there's these little bubbles in there for quite some time. They eventually start to move to the top and end up sort of looking like that.
Yeah I guess it could be. It definitely looks like air bubbles but I'm not sure what's causing them. I made another juice almost exactly the same way, but with blueberry and tobacco and I don't get bubbles in that one like I do with this.

I am new at the whole DIY thing. This is a juice I made the other day. I've made it before but I tried it differently this time to reduce the nic level and the throat hit. Here is what I used:
- 15 mL Nude Nicotine 70/30 (vg/pg) 6mg base
- 12 mL Michael's VG (Wilton brand)
- Flavor West (DIYJuice.com) Peanut butter, chocolate and custard flavoring
They look like tiny bubbles. Not sure if it's sugar build up or what's going on. I made the juice before sans the VG and didn't notice this, but it was also not this dark. Just want to make sure everything sounds safe to vape. The juice tastes and vapes just fine and this only happens when I let the juice sit for a few minutes. Thanks!
So.. I wouldn't use that Wilton Glycerin. I've been looking at it on different sites and I can't find anywhere that it says USP. I also saw one blurb that suggests it's synthetic glycerin as well.
It may very well be safe to use but I wouldn't want to chance until I could find a proper description of it.
Try wizard labs or essential depot or any of the other places that list their vg as USP.
Thanks, I bought it just to test out, but I think I am going to buy a larger bottle from an actual e-cig DIY site. I just wanted to see if the VG helped my throat hit issue.
Not sure what those bubbles are man, but that looks like a PET bottle. You want to make sure you're using LDPE bottles, as PET will leach chemicals into your mix.
I was under the impression LDPE was prone to leeching more and quicker..?
LDPE is gas permeable, and both can leach antimony given the right conditions or enough time. Glass is probably safest, but either LDPE or PET should be safe enough for short to mid term e-liquid storage under normal conditions.
I do all my mixing in borosilicate glass, glass bottles for storage, and LDPE needle tip bottles for carrying my DIY e-liquid around with me.
I have seen that only when I put 5-10% distilled water in the mix.
BTW, why would you not use concentrated NIC? Looks like you are making a juice about 3mg, which is good, but you could use a tiny bit of 100mg concentrate to get it there.
IME, those bubbles formulate when non distilled water is used in the cleaning process.
Awhile back I tried to clean and re-use some of my plastic bottles for samples for myself. I rinsed with non-distilled water + soap, then rinsed with water again, then removed smells with vodka, then rinsed with distilled water.
Everytime I did that, after the new juice mixed in that bottle sat overnight, I wound up with air bubbles just like that. They go away when you shake the bottle, but they definitely don't look nice.
I stopped re-using any of my bottles after that.
If these don't go away after a good shake, it's something different and I can't help.
I figured it was some chemical from the soap or in the tap water left behind.
Could be, I do rinse them with regular tap water, but I don't use soap. I think maybe I'll have to start using glass bottles. It's a waste of money to just chuck the bottles when I'm done every time, regardless of if they're 50 cents or not.
Check out www.ecigdisplays.com for cheap 15ml glass bottles. I don't like the functionality of the dropper tops on the 30s (they just don't suck enough) but the 15s are excellent.
