Start at 5% and work up. Recommended flavor percentages are overrated and are usually way too high.
This, I see so many flavors recommended at 10-15% and I have never used more than 13% total in all my recipes.
A single flavor no more than 7% for me.
If there isn't, here's how I usually get my flavour percentages.
-
go to the E Liquid Recipes Flavour Search engine.
-
Type in your flavour, including the brand name, for instance "Capella French Vanilla" and search. Depending on the brand, you might need to type the brand abbreviation instead of the full name (So "FA" for "Flavour Arts" or "TFA" instead of "The Flavour Apprentice")
-
Click on the flavour if it's found, at the top of the page it'll list the % all users of the site have used in all their recipes, like so:
Average mixing quantity: 4.2% (Median: 4%) Minimum used quantity: 2% Maximum used quantity: 10%
So that tells you that anything from 2-10% is ok and that 4% is probably the sweet spot. I'd recommend going with the Median instead of the average, since if 4 out of 5 people use 2% and 1 crazy guy uses 20%, the median would be 2% but the average would be 5.6%
It'll also show you user comments if available, sometimes it'll have warnings (e.g. "Has been reported to crack/melt plastic tanks. May be fine to vape with glass or stainless steel tanks. ") and you'll get a list of all the (public) recipes that use it.
