Difference between Bavarian Cream, Whipped cream, fresh cream, ice cream etc...?
submitted almost 11 years ago by firephly

What is really the difference between Bavarian Cream, Whipped cream, fresh cream, ice cream etc., when it comes to flavorings? I want to start out and get something to make a really creamy vape but I don't know which to choose.

I'm just getting into making juices and haven't used any of these flavors, but I work in the culinary arts for a living, so take these comments for what they're worth.

My sense is that these flavors are named aptly to describe succinctly what they taste like. So whipped cream should be lightly sweet and lightly creamy, fresh cream just really creamy and maybe barely sweet, ice cream heavily creamy and very sweet maybe a hint of vanilla, and Bavarian cream similar to ice cream but even more heavy with cooked milk or buttery notes. Hope this helps.

Depend what type of cream you're looking for. Fresh cream from flavor art is literally cream by itself; imagine how fresh, warm milk smells. It smells and almost taste just like it.

For Bavarian cream, this will vary depending on which manufacturer you are receiving it from. I personally like Loranns. It's really sweet and has vanilla in it. The tpa one, from what I remember, doesn't have vanilla and is a variation of cream. For some reason I think TPA Bavarian cream smells kind of like a banana.

Again, manufacturer of the whip cream will be unique. So pick your gut feeling.

I don't know about ice cream, never interested me.

Each of these creams well have their own little unique spin of cream. Some will be sweet, others just cream by itself. Just depends on what you're looking for

I'm in the same boat looking for a cream that is going to give that "true creamy" taste. I don't know if it's just my taste buds but when I use sweet cream it seems to have a slight roasted nutty flavor to it. Bavarian cream is VERY strong but seems spot on to me. I just tried vienna cream for the first time over the weekend and it seems close to bavarian cream but I'm waiting on my juice to steep and find out its end taste. I really haven't used any other creams just yet. I'm looking for the right cream(s) to make a base out of to make creamy versions out of a few of my fruit flavors I'm working on.

Off topic for a minute.... anyone really happy with a single fruit flavor? I found that there are some good ones out there and some are good stand alone but each vendor has a different taste. This took me down the rabbit hole wanting to create great single fruits to work with. I have a several I'm working on with a few I'm very close with but, I'm extremely close on my mango. Working with TFA mango & Capella sweet mango I have a mix that is a great single mango.

I think you're on the right track. I've found that for a single fruit flavor, mixing a few different vendors will result in a nice full-bodied flavor.

I can tell you that the Flavor West Bavarian Cream is not what i expected. I bought One on One Pink Starburst thinking I could just use that alone and it really doesn't taste like a Pink Starburst like my vape shop has.

So i started brainstorming and experimenting. My first try was the Bavarian Cream. It is not a very pleasant flavor alone, and mixed in the Pink Starburst it really just takes over. Even with as little as 5 drops.

So I'm still on the search for that perfect pink starburst. But i hope that helps a little with my take on the Bavarian Cream.

maybe just a touch of sour would give you that starburst tang

My next purchase will have to include some sour then! What would you say 2-5%?
