I accidentally bought 4 oz of the wrong one!. I have a recipe that has Blueberry Extra but I got Blueberry Wild instead. Can I sub them?
I thought the wild was very mute and didnt really taste like blueberry to me.
I never figured that stuff out. I used my last bit to mix at 16% and it still came out extremely muted
I like it at about 3% with some kind of tobacco mix. Maybe using too much?
They each embody different properties of the blueberry flavor. I like to combine them to get a more rounded and natural blueberry.
Extra is stronger than wild and has a more pronounced fruity bite to it, while wild emphasizes the sweetness more, but that's just my opinion.
In a lot of recipes, you can probably substitute one for the other, but you'll want to pay attention to the sharpness and sweetness of the other flavors in the mix. Too much similarity and you won't be able to tell them apart, and too much difference can make them clash.
I'd say make a small batch and try it out. If it tastes good, then that's great. In the future you can try it with the BB Extra instead and maybe try blending them. It's up to you.
