My first original recipe: Pamplemousse. An homage to Vapor Chef's Coolcumber Melon.
submitted almost 11 years ago by Daheavyb

My mother is a fan of TVC's Coolcumber Melon. I set out a plan to make a juice that would budge her from her daily routine. She's tried many, but will not be swayed. It may be biased love for her son, but she now likes this as much. (note I didn't say better, heh)

If you've never had Coolcumber melon, it's Honeydew and cucumbers with a bit of frost. It's very refreshing and clean. Not sweet, but not exactly dry. The melon is barely there, but keeps the cucumber's 'vegginess' at bay. The frost is not menthol, but more than just a Koolada sensation. You feel it, but it's not over the top. I didn't want to clone or replace her beloved Coolcumber Melon, I wanted to make something to complement it.

Fewer things are more refreshing than grapefruit to me. It would be the predominate flavor and I chose lime and pomegranate lift it a bit higher and smooth out grapefruit's sharpness. Just a little menthol and koolada is added, this amount is just to chill the vape, it's not intended to be a menth head's hit. Since all the flavors are pretty tart, I added some EM. Not enough to make it sweet, but to round it out.

When I first put these together, I was amazed how well it worked. I Googled the flavors and found the Pamplemousse cocktail recipe is nearly exact. Figures! So I'm a naive, that's fine by me. This is my 6th edtion, which I find works well. If you have any improvements or suggestions, please feel free.

Pamplemousse

Pomegranate CAP 6%

White Grapefruit INW 4%

Lime INW 3%

EM [10%] 2%

Koolada TFA 2%

Menthol [10%] 0.5%

I've only bought Inwera's. Are you able to compare it or give an impression of FA's? I can say INW's is true to fresh white grapefruit. Not candy profile or sweetness at all. Aroma is spot on as well.

At what percentage are you using FA Grapefruit? I haven't had tremendous luck.

Try it with a little bit of FA citrus mix.

Even at 1% I'm getting a really harsh nasal note. Less than 1% hasn't proved useful as an accent note either. It may just not be for me.
