Good luck!
Thanks for this. Going to need lots! Just hoping to not lose a ton of money. I figure worst case scenario, I sell 0 juice, and I have enough DiY Supplies to last a decade for myself!
I'm sure you'll do great man, you've probably invested more time in research and tasting flavors than a lot of vendors. The only problem is there are some large, well established companies, with teams of marketers competing with you for shelf space, and many of the people who run smoke shops that now sell eliquid don't even vape. Maybe try to find a business grad that is passionate about vaping and will do some promoting in exchange for free juice, haha.
Your selling something you endorse so it should be a cakewalk. I tell people who are curious just how much I've cut down on nic, how I feel physically, how much I don't stink. All of the these qualities on top of my massive cloud builds have a decent effect on getting people to give vaping a go. Most people just don't know about 30+watt devices and drippers so never look into it. It's nice having multiple drippers and devices to give people a vape experience. Most just die around 20 watts or that first hit cause they're not used to it. If I can make a few bucks along the way I'm totally down.
Oh great a Jace avatar, cant escape him ever i suppose...
Well I guess a blue player would be the best type of person to make juice.... cold, measured, calculating.......evil...
Nah, you want a juice mixer to be a Grixis player.
Passionate (Red), intellegent (blue) and ready to do whatever is necessary (Black).
The evil bit is just icing on the cake.
I do NOT want evil zombie demon juice. Naya juice, now that would be a different story. Or Esper, crazy ass etherium distillers and shit...
Evil zombie demon juice is TOTALLY the way to go!
Side effects may include: Evilness, mindless undeath, a strong desire to eat children. Please consult your doctor if you think you may be turning undead.. Not for pregnant women, people sensitive to evilness and Paladin of the holy light.
I wish u the best of luck...I just made ur prime pomegranate and I gotta say it's really good...between u and HIC you'll have inspired me to get in to diy THANKS!!!
I might tweak it some still, but it is quite tasty. It might just be my tastebuds, no one else has had a bottle of that before, but after a couple hours of vaping it on the third day it seemed a bit muted to me. I get vapors tongue pretty fast though.
Edit: For those that don't know, Prime Pomegranate is one of my juices that will be available come December, it's posted HERE in case you wish to try it.
Most of my final recipes for sale won't be posted on open forums for obvious reasons, but I'll throw some out occasionally!
Hell I would buy from you! Have a site already set up? I would buy because you have put all that time into it and its recipe's you have developed!
Haha I appreciate it, I'm sure I can get a mod exception to post the link to my site here once it's up and running. I'm doing my best not to publicize the link until December 1 (that's when my insurance kicks in). Have a few things I'm making final adjustments to before I'll post it up!
So whats the deal with insurance? I've been curious as to whether or not these small juice companies are actually starting out with insurance or not AND what the insurance actually insures. I can't imagine many of the small LLCs actually have great insurance, if any.
I would assume that virtually 0 have the insurance starting out as it would be more than 25% of their start up cost. Most companies prefer an annual payment up front of $4,000-10,000, however sometimes you can get away with quarterly.
I have insurance set to start the same day I plan to launch my site, but I am also an insurance agent. I actually made money by writing that first quarterly check ;-).
For a lot of people, if your personal assets aren't significant and your business hasn't made any money yet, as much as I would recommend it, it's not a requirement (although many B&M's DO require that you have it to sell in their stores).
Basically without it, if there's no assets for someone to come after, then it doesn't much matter. Being that a big part of my launch plan is to get my juice into multiple local B&M's (hoping for 10 before the end of first quarter 2015) it was a necessity for me as I know it will come up.
Hope this helps.
Seeing as youre an insurance agent maybe you can help me out with a quick question. So lets say i have an opportunity to sell some of my creations to a local B&M, lets say i dont have insurance, but they do. Is this going to cover my ass as its sold in an insured store? The customers would only ever buy it from he B&M, not me. My instinct tells me no, but then again its being sold in their shop and would be no different than if someone came after them about their MBV juices. I think no because if someone dis go after them about my juice causing a problem, the next step is for them to come after me, isnt it? Sorry if i made it sound complicated and thanks for the help :)
Create an LLC and for all intents and purposes, you are ok. If you get sued, just BK the LLC (consult an attorney in your state for specific legal guidelines for LLC's in your state). If the B&M doesn't require it, no real risk for you going without it if an attorney says it's ok ;-).
The B&M's insurance is not going to cover you and the person pursuing legal action could come after either of you, neither of you, or both of you.
