He edited his post so the recipe isn't there anymore. I had it saved, so here goes:
5.0% LA Banana Cream
3.0% TFA Dragon Fruit
7.0% TFA Strawberry
1 drop per mL Citric Acid
Mix at 30pg / 70vg
You can re-post it all you want because I don't give a shit, but at least be aware of what's going on.
A vendor took the recipe and started selling it as real Bombies juice.
If you feel comfortable with that happening, then by all means continue. I put the recipe back in the original thread.
Call the vendor out. If you're not comfortable doing it here, PM u/_Bombies and at least let him know who is doing this.
If somebody clones one of my juices, oh well that's life. Somebody selling counterfeit juice in my name is an actual crime and something totally different.
Personally I'd call the vendor out publicly, PM _Bombies, and report it as fraud to, who handles counterfeit merchandise these days, the FTC? FBI?
If what you say is true, people are paying good money for what they believe is genuine Bombies juice and getting a clone recipe. That's flat out fraud.
>A vendor took the recipe and started selling it as real Bombies juice.
That's the risk of open source. Just because someone misuses your creation doesn't mean the rest have to suffer for it too. It's like saying we should shut down the internet because pedophiles use it to trade child pornography.
Shitty people are always going to be shitty people, with or without your help.
He deleted his post too? Wtf? Thanks for reposting. Added to /r/cerealkillaclone.
See and this right here is the problem I take issue with.
Jackster gets his panties in a bunch over a vendor posting that he liked Jackster's clone (which I still don't see the problem here, ok so a vendor liked your work. How does that translate into stealing from you?), and now fizzmustard is deleting his take on the same clone?
So where does it stop? Should we all just go back and delete all posts that talk about anything related to a recipe we don't want being sold by someone else?
That'd be the end of this sub.
It's a shame, they have both been valuable contributors, I just fail to see what the problem is, or how deleting posts fixes it.
Yep, I deleted the nana cream clone too because I saw directly where a vendor was selling "nana cream that he buys in bulk then rebottles." I questioned further because it was suspicious, and he finally admitted it was "a recipe from reddit." Which was awkward.
Dude, call the vendor out, don't delete the recipe. The vendor already has it.
Some of your commentary is very insightful and a wonderful addition to the community here. Please don't remove that.
If you aren't ok with a vendor possibly selling your recipe, don't post it on the Internet.
He had a b&m near him sell his exact recipe to people. It wasn't simply "a vendor liked his work" they took his recipe, didn't do any of their own legwork, started selling it with literally no time invested in it and are instantly profiting from it. How are people not understanding that?
Edit: iphone hates me
Honestly it has absolutely zero to do with profiting off my work. The recipe? Sure, it's very close to Bombies and that took a lot of effort. The research? Absolutely my work but I posted it intentionally to further the DIY community. It's helpful, and for people who actually care I'm it's valuable.
But I really don't care – I open-sourced it because I wanted to. If someone wants to take that info verbatim and publish it for profit that's fine.
The only thing I care about is people using something I've published to unquestionably rip off another person. It was a knee-jerk reaction to take it down...absolutely.
I don't have any citric acid, can that be subbed?
The citric acid is essential.
Question for ya - does it need to be diluted at all? /u/simlet's post above is why I ask. Also, 1 drop per mL is 5% correct?
Are you folks trying to run off the people with talent from this sub? All I've seen from the majority of you is pitchforks and sandy vaginas. When was the last time any of you contributed anything worth while?
