Question about liquid storage practices
submitted about 11 years ago by JagerFuchs

Okay, so I just received my shipment of nicotine, PG,VG, and flavorings. I know to store the nicotine in a cool, dark place to avoid sunlight contamination, but do I need to follow the same practice with the other liquids? I planned on placing my flavor concentrates on a lab or spice rack (fits nicely with the vials). Do I need to keep them in a dark place as well?

Here's something relevant to how you want to store your flavors. This also answers how you can store your VG. This link also has some good advice.

Thanks for the links. I contacted DOW chemical, they recommend keeping VG and PG at room temp in a dark place. Nicotine should be the only liquid that is refrigerated.

My rule has always been - if in doubt, cool, dark and dry.

I generally keep my flavors inside a little box like thing. I don't know that it makes a huge difference, but I do find that some flavors (LA Watermelon comes to mind) change, both in color and flavor, in sunlight.

I wouldn't, however, worry about storing them in the fridge or freezer or similar methods to keep them cold.
