Anyone found a good Cap'n Crunch recipe?
submitted about 11 years ago by chaoticbear

Tried searching through here, and found someone who had done Crunchberries. I'm trying to figure out if anyone's thought of a way to replicate the square cereal.

What flavoring would you add to shred the roof of your mouth?

Fiberglass is what Newports use, isn't it?

That's a myth. Some chewing/dip tobaccos used to use fiberglass, but haven't in a long time.

I was just joshing anyway, not that there's anything wrong with josh.

I'll just use a broken glass drip tip.

There are many concentrates out there that are of a particular flavor (EG: Banana Split, Crunch Berries, Banana Cream Pie), however I like to make my own from scratch.

This way I control how much of which flavor goes into my batches and how strong the flavor turns out to be.

So yeah, I'd be interested in a Recipe as well rather than just buying it.

FlavorWest has a straight Cap'n Crunch flavor.

Huh, so they do! I had been sticking to TFA and Capella's so far. Thanks!

Captain Crunch: Crunch Berries

Berry Crunch (TFA) - 10% Peanut Butter (TFA) - 3% Pomegranate Deluxe (TFA) - 1% Natural Strawberry (LorAnn's Naturals) - 1% Ethyl Maltol (10% in pg) - 0.5%

Notes: at first the peanut butter seems to be overpowering, but steeping makes the other flavored shine through. I had a bowl of crunch berries and then gaped this and there was no difference. The strawberry can be changed for other strawberries that you have, this is just what I had.

This one isn't too terribly difficult, however, considering how cheap NWVT is, I didn't see a point in cloning it.

If you haven't done it, how would you know how difficult it is?

Well, they're sold out, but I'm really trying to get the plain Cap'n Crunch flavor. Some vanilla, brown sugar, butter (?), but I don't know what else goes in there.
