So my bf and I have boxes full of flavourings and extracts that we've tried that we just found completely unvapeable... such as bacon, espresso, dark/white/double dark chocolate, tiramisu, french vanilla, marshmallow, fudge, maple syrup, peanut butter, nutella, custards/creams, and blue cheese (don't know what either of us was thinking there). We have a home espresso machine and were thinking we could use these in flavoured lattes and other espresso based drinks (especially with booze added), but I haven't read or heard of anyone doing this. Typically I'd just use flavoured liqueurs or Torani syrups but since we have all these flavours why let them go to waste. I know these flavours were originally meant for candy/food etc but googling really just brings up ejuice recipes,so I figured I'd ask if anyone has done this before and if so what amounts they typically used for say a 12-20oz drink, and whether or not it was gross/awesome. I'm dying to try and make a maple bacon latte. Maple bacon ejuice stimulated my gag reflex a little too much.
A lot of those, especially marshmallow and chocolates, are meant to be used very sparingly in a blend with other flavors, rather than as standalone flavors.
Marshmallow adds body and tangibility to a lot of fruit, cream, and dessert flavors, for instance, but not in any quantity that you would actually notice the flavor.
Creams need to be mixed together in various ratios to make them work for the most part.
Maple is extremely strong and is noticeable in much smaller amounts, in my experience, and should also be used very sparingly or it can overwhelm a mix.
Some of the flavors you mention are common and popular DIY flavors, like marshmallow, creams/custards, and french vanilla. Mixed together in the right ratio, they are absolutely delicious.
I would avoid adding bacon flavor to coffee, though maple, chocolate, creams, etc. would be good. You would just have to start with a small amount (2-3 drops) and keep adding until you taste it to know how much to add. (as long as you haven't mixed nicotine in!)
Haha no of course not, although getting our nicotine fixes in a cup of coffee would be pretty convenient :P We tried quite a few different recipes, and similar flavours from vendors but realized neither of us was a fan of drink or dessert flavoured ejuice... we tend to stick with fruity, candy and menthol flavours. I haven't heard of adding marshmallow to add body before, so maybe I'll give that a go. Thanks!
You can also make candy :) One of my vendors over here in Australia sent out packs of candy that was flavored like his most popular juices. Was awesome :)
Ooh that sounds like fun. Like hard candies or gummies and stuff? I suppose you could use them in baking too, though I dunno how much the flavour would disappear or get stronger in the process.
