Hey everyone. Was looking at a good project to work on ever since cloning 'nana cream. Was hoping to get some insight on a fruit loop cereal flavoring. I know FW makes one but from my past experience with their cereal line, it was extremely disappointing... like really really disappointing. With that said, I'll have to make my own. Was trying to see if anyone has gotten very far with it if they could share their notes.

Check out bergamot oil, a flavor from the bergamot orange which is apparently in earl Grey tea. Googling seems to suggest a lot of people think that earl grey and fruit loops smell very similar due to this. Maybe a secret ingredient??? Idk, interesting though.
Edit: Thought I'd add that you don't want to vape oils, so you would need to find a similar flavor not just a bergamot extract.

Distilled Bergamot essential oil is not an oil in the lipid sense (look in the sidebar for essential oils). You can vape essential oils, but it's hard to get the dosage right because most of them are really strong. For example I use Lemongrass oil for the bath tub, 3 drops are good, but 5 are to strong. Another disadvantage is that the alcoholes and terpenes in essential oils can crack tanks.
Water soluble flavours are way easier to handle.

Closest thing I have is a fruity pebbles mix that /u/kriga was working on back in July. I had it in my list to craft until he said it wasn't as good after curing a bit.
It was:
- 2% Lemon Sicily (FA)
- 1% Mandarin (FA)
- 1% Lime Cold Press (FA)
- 1.5% Black Cherry (FA)
- 1% Strawberry (FA)
- .5% Bilberry (FA)
- .5% Raspberry (FA)
- 1.5% Meringue (FA)
- 1% Vienna Cream (FA)
- .5% Acetyl Pyrazine (TFA)
- 2 drops per 10ml Sweetener (TFA)
- 1 drop per 10ml Tart & Sour (TFA)
good lord... that's a lot of flavors. Okay yeah that's certainly a challenge. I'll look into buying all of those for my October flavor buy.

Well, I haven't tried it, but I do know that Fruit Loops are in fact all one flavor, which leads me to believe the best way to simulate it would be to keep it simple. You need a generic fruit base, (Tutti Fruitty TFA?) a grain note, (Bread crust FA, or the ol' Acetyl Pyrazine TFA) and a "milk" note, (Milkstone or Fresh cream FA,) and since it is a sweetened cereal, probably a touch of ethyl maltol.
So, I may try this recipe as soon as I get my next batch of ingredients in:
TFA Tutti Fruity-7%
FA Bread Crust-1%
FA Fresh Cream-1.5%
10% EM solution-3%
As I said, I haven't tried it or anything close, but that's how I would start. If anybody thinks I have the proportions off please comment and let me know how far off track I am.
I have all of those. Btw bread crust is very strong smelling
This has been a personal project for some time, also involved /u/kriga.
Lemon is a main note. Has to be the correct lemon. Cereal note can be AP with a slight amount of FW Yellow cake. FA Meringue is usefull in small amounts.
Ethyl matol isnt there. Sweetness isnt right and it mutes the springy fruit flavors you want. Need something sugary - a sweetener like element that doesnt just add generic "sweetness" it needs the sugar aspect to it. This might be reached through the correct combination of flavors as opposed to another additive. Unsure, however.
I take it ya'll have tried both sucralose and/or stevia?
Inawera Shisha Lemon, might also do it. First mixed at ~8% it is the best lemonade on the market, super tart, perfectly clean. But after 2-3 weeks and/or an exceedingly hot water bath, the tartness completely disappears and you get a very sugary, almost merengue type lemon that might suit your needs. A touch of whiskey also forget mellows and sweetens it without imparting any flavor.

Idk about flavoring bit if you want to try to clone one, which is pretty damn close to the real deal, 9south has a juice called cereal killa.
hah more clones? well maybe, I was at the point where I wasn't going to buy any more juice anymore.

I'll look at picking some up. At price point is a lot higher than I would like to pay for E-Juice however. But if there is enough interest I may dive into it.

This is a tough endeavor, friend.
Coming up with a recipe similar to this is something I've had on the back burner for quite some time because honestly don't think I have enough experience to try to put something together like CK. It is very convincing to the whole fruit loops in a bowl of milk experience. The profile to my taste buds is lemon, lime, the sugary oats taste (similar to sugar cookie) and the cream base. That said if you want to try it to get your take on it and maybe use it for inspiration I'd be happy to donate one of my bottles to you. I've been trying to keep to my own mixes since it forces me to keep working on them.
I don't want to over simplify the cereal killa clone and maybe my palette isn't very refined but tfa fruit circles sure seems like the main ingredient to me.
Fruit circles with a touch of Vienna cream, fresh cream maybe marshmallow and it's right there. Been vaping it on and off for a few weeks. I'll never buy cereal killa again......

I went to nine south a while back. They weren't exactly making the worlds most complex juices at that time. They mixed them out in the open in front of you at that point and based on what I saw, it's not some 10 flavor juice. I don't know if they did cereal then but I'm guessing it's on the simple side. I got some pink fruity juice and a graham cracker one that I really enjoyed. Either way I'm happy with the fruit circles.
They have two different lines, their basic stuff isnt anything special but their 90/10 vg .4mg line is a bit more complex.

I have fruit circles and IMO wasnt that good.. Maybe ill try it again with different ingredients this time.
It's all so subjective in this diy thing.
I ended up using it at 8% with a few creams and am enjoying it. That doesn't mean anything if you're not a fan but I would try it again.
The tfa coco rounds on the other hand is terrible.
