Apple PIe break downs.

So i made a pretty successful apple pie that got alot of praise here on DIY.

Im using TFA apple pie as my go to, Its got a very "light" flavor, kind of wispy IMO

I like TFA apple pie alot, but im interested in some of the other brands of apple pies.

Would any of you veteran DIY'ers like to write up your best description of the different apple pie flavors you have tried? IE whether its sweet, tart, crusty, cinnamon-y, ect. and what you think about them. also what % you tend to use them at, stand alone and in mix.

Would like to hear your opinions

Thanks a lot for sharing. So Capella has an amazing apple pie. Very well rounded and possible that you may want to use another apple pie in conjunction to get a more tart taste. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. It's good stuff.

Any one tried the dutch apple pie from FW?

That sounds really good. might have to just order all the apple pies :p

Personally, I can't stand FW dutch apple pie. I know people that love it, but to me it has this weird spice taste that overpowers everything and does not taste right. I haven't tried TFA, but I have tried Capella's and I really enjoy it.

I can't stand FW anything to be honest. I taste FW in the majority of store bought juices and I can't stand that sick tasting background note all their flavors have.

ECBlends Apple Pie for some odd reason has a lot of anise in it. I have no idea why anyone would think apple pie would have anise, but it just tastes wrong.

I'm pretty sure it's not intended to be a flavoring, just a juice in and of itself, but still. Ugh.

The best way to make a flavor as complex as apple pie is to think about what ingredients go into an actual apple pie, and work from that, based on how those ingredients affect the overall flavor of the end result.

tldr; don't use anise in apple pie.

I've only used TFA Applie Pie and I'm sure you're already familiar with that. My only issue with it is I feel like the apple taste gets overtaken by just about anything after it steeps for a while.

Kinda related question - has anyone trued making an apple pie juice from scratch? IE apple flavor, cinnamon flavor, etc etc rather than an apple pie flavoring. I wanted to try it but I'm not sure of a good cinnamon flavoring.

Hey man, I looked at you're original recipe and ordered the flavorings for it. When I looked at the creamy caramel there is a major concern. Listed on my bottle it has molasses in it. It's a bad idea to vape that due to the sugars in molasses. Sugar combusts at the temperatures we vape at and forms carbon black which can lead to lung issues. Just thought id give a heads up.

yah, not dead set on the caramel, just what i had at the time. pretty much any light caramel would be fine in small percents.

It was mainly just a warning/heads up. Wiz lab really needs to warn with sugars and oils. They sell a few lorann flavorings that are not safe to vape. Believe it or not I forgot to add the apple pie flavoring. Haha. So I'll be trying it with caramel candy(fw) or maybe a touch of dulce de leche when I make my next order.
