I've been reading some of your 'nana clone recipes lately and decided to try one of my own. I got the inspiration for this clone from the post /u/jackster1232002 posted a couple of days ago, which you can find here. It seems that he came about as close to the real thing as you can get without invoking the spirit of /u/bombies himself. However, I don't have all of the same flavors that he used in his clone, not yet at least, so I used what I had on hand.
- Banana Cream (TFA) 6%
- Strawberry Ripe (TFA) 6%
- Strawberries & Cream (TFA) 2%
- Pear (FA) 1%
- Pear (TFA) .5% *Pineapple (TFA) .5%
Like I said, I don't have all of the same flavors that /u/jackster1232002 used in his clone, but this version, in my opinion, is a decent clone. I understand that LA Banana Cream is crucial, but i'm currently waiting for mine to arrive in the mail. The TFA Strawberry Ripe isn't the right strawberry, it should be TFA Strawberry and possibly another strawberry (maybe FA?), but the use of the TFA Strawberries & Cream helps round out the Strawberry Ripe so the ripeness isnt as bold and gives it more of an artificial flavor like TFA Strawberry. The mix of TFA and FA Pear is just right in my opinion, at least that's what I taste in the real 'nana cream. And last, but not least, pineapple really finishes the mix and adds just the right amount of tartness. I tried Cap's Golden Pineapple, don't bother with that, TFA is better for this mix in my opinion.
I really like this mix, i could vape it all day, though I will try /u/jackster1232002's version once my order arrives, but until then i'll be vaping this. If you happen to mix this up, let me know what you think. Happy mixing, everyone.
Edit: formatting
FA in place of LA pear is worth looking into. I never thought about doing that, I tried a mix of FA pear before and it didn't work out and I quickly disregarded it from further R&D. Looking back it could possibly work.
If anything I'd swap the percentages of the S.Ripe and S.Cream as S.Cream is more similar to TFA strawberry than S.Ripe is. I love S.Ripe but if you're looking at a straight clone, that's the wrong path to take.
edit: a word.
Thanks for your input. You're probably right, the S Cream percentage should be increased just a bit, but I kept it low as to not overdo the cream aspect. I'll probably make a new mix tonight with adjusted strawberry percentages to see how it works out.
I love the TFA and FA pears mixed together. They compliment each other really well. You should really give that a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
I'm looking forward to receiving the missing flavors from your version. It sounds like you may have hit the nail on the head. Once I get those ill mix up a batch right away and let you know what I think.
Yeah there's been a lot of folks that seem to enjoy the mix. I'm now looking at a new challenge lol. But all those flavors really broke the bank the last few months.
Man I just made this and I didn't have any pear and I added tfa pineapple but I did everything else and it tastes really bad. Could it be my setup? It tastes like the banana cream is burnt???
It's most likely your setup. I don't get a burnt taste at all. Maybe the pineapple without any pear is throwing off the flavor for you. Even though it's such a small percentage, the pear is important in the mix. Once you get some pear it'll taste more like nana cream.
