So, I've got something I like quite a bit, but needs some tweaking, but I'm not sure where to start.
I'm taking 6% TFA Pear, 3ish% TFA Honeydew, and 3ish% CAP Sweet Strawberry, and mixing it at 50/50. It's great, but I kinda want to change it up, and thusfar I've been unable to get anything interesting out of varying the Honeydew and Strawberry, or scaling down the pear.
Does anyone have any ideas for substitutions? What have you found that pairs well with any of these? I've got something like 40 vials on my flavor board, and I'm sort of stuck trying to figure out where to start experimenting!
A flavor I have that's quite different but tends to be a hit with fans of Honey Pearry would be:
- 10% Watermelon (TFA)
- 5% Sweet Strawberry (CAP)
- 2% Raspberry (LA) or Sweet Raspberry (TFA)
- 2% Blueberry Wild (TFA)
- 1% Koolada (TFA)
- 1% Sour (TFA)
Very similar to Bombies Seven Seas mix but not what I would call a clone. Much different than your honey and pear mix but quite enjoyable.
Sweet! I'll give it a run, but I've never found Blueberry Wild or TFA Watermelon in stock :/
I'll definitely see how it turns out with LA/N Watermelon and Blueberry though! Thanks!
I prefer LA watermelon actually, but got some TFA in bulk so stuck with it.
I like adding a wee bit of key lime to my phoney pearry. Like in the neighbourhood of a small drop or three per 15ml bottle.
Also could try subbing .5%-4% ripe banana for the honeydew.
Not a bad idea! And yeah, that key lime loves to clobber flavors if you're not careful. I'll try the banana sub too, but I have a feeling it'll get engulfed by the pear.
switch the pear and and strawberry ratios and substitute tfa nectarine for the honeydew.
I'll give that a shot soon, but I've only got CAP tangerine at the moment. Hopefully that'll work out in my favor :)
How do you like Cap Tangerine? I was looking at that one, but haven't ordered it yet.
It's much more dessert like than TFA's tangerine, kinda like a creamsicle. Very orangy and sweet by comparison. I like it, but it's not even close to similar to TFA Tangerine, and doesn't substitute well, but it is still pretty solid solo or as a primary flavor to base mixes around.
Try introducing some Cap Sweet Guava. I think it would work well with the pear/strawberry. I hate honeydew, and have never worked with it, so I can't really say how it would go with that.
