submitted about 11 years ago by AutoModerator

OK new mixers, this is your thread to ask any questions you want of the DIY eJuice community. All posts are allowed, but we still encourage you to use the sidebar and search features before asking any questions.

  • Placing your first DIY order and want to make sure you have all you need?
  • Not sure about how to mix your first bottle?
  • Want to get started but aren't sure how?
  • Any other questions? ... then this is the thread for you. FWIW, the answers to the first three questions will eventually be found in the wiki (still in development); link at the top of the page.

I've seen people talking about how some Banana flavors will start eating a syringe as soon as you start to use it. What is the best way to measure those flavors without destroying a syringe?

Glass pipette, glass eyedropper, disposable pipette if you can read them well enough, burette.

Hey guys, I just ordered some new flavors and I've looked over many threads on many different sites for reviews but haven't been able to find anything for these specific flavors.

Flavorwest: butter rum, cookie butter, dulce de leche, butter toffee, butter cream. The flavor apprentice: key lime, malted milk extra, Kentucky bourbon.

If anyone has any experience with these flavors, I'd love to hear what you have to say.

For some reason a lot of DIYer's consider FW to be low-grade; perhaps this is association with MBV. But I know Vapor Chef uses DW, and I have about 30 of their flavors that I will sometimes try if the TFAs and Capella's aren't giving me what i want.

For FW (at least the first 4 you mention) I'd recommend using them at about 10% and see what you think. Some of the FW are good on their own, but usually not great.

The TFAs you bought are more side notes than main flavors. Search for Key Lime and you should find a couple recipes in this sub.

I think you might be right as to the perception of fw. And their labels look like they came out of the 70's..

I mainly started with tfa because of the people I could talk to in person were big fans and the bulk pricing. I'm branching out more now though, and definitely want to try blood orange and white tea from fw.

Malted milk extra is good as an enhancer but be careful above 3-4%, it smells great but tastes terrible if you use too much.

Edit: i dunno why people shy away from FW. Used properly you can do some great mixes. Im very picky and my ADV for over a month has been

10% FW Strawberry

4% FW Cheesecake

3% FW French Vanilla

3% FW Graham Cracker

Can you make a better strawberry cheesecake? Duh. Is it still a damn good mix? Hell yes.

Vape them all individually and you can be the first to respond in the flavor review thread!
