It feels good to finally nail a recipe!
submitted about 11 years ago by Trelga

I've been mixing for about two months now. I have about 10 recipes I frequently mix. But I don't have any perfected. I always change them a little to get that perfect flavor that I want.

Tonight I finally did it with my orange dreambar. It's my favorite flavor and what got me off cigs. But from every vendor I always felt it wasn't creamy enough and had way too strong of a orange.

Well tonight I decided to use less than 20% flavoring. Not sure why but I stuck to that "rule" well tonight my perfect dreambar is complete after 3"2 hours in the crock pot. So after steeping it will be even better. Making a big 120ml now to let sit for a week.

If anyone is wondering recipe is.

7% orange cream.
5% French vanilla
1% vanilla bean ice cream.
1% lemon.
.5% cotton candy.

All tfa Flavors. I may try it with .5% marshmallow once to see if it makes it fluffier. But by god I am more than happy and no more tinkering with this for me!

Congrats. That definitely is a great feeling. I wish I could find it for the one flavor I haven't been able to perfect for almost 4 months.

Congrats man. Nothing better than being able to stop tinkering with little 5mls and mixing up a huge batch of something you know is good.

Just tried to re-create this. Unfortunately, I have no TFA VBIC, so I had to sub. At 1%, I figure it's probably not a deal breaker and will give a pretty general sense of what you have going here.

Experimental Batch # X-006:
25 PG 75 VG 0 Nic
7% TFA Orange Cream
5% TFA French Vanilla
1% Vanilla Swirl
1% Lemon
0.5% Cotton Candy

Flavor: 7.5/10 The orange is up front, very similar to the outside of a bargain brand Orange Creamsicle. Not detecting much creaminess, but rather a sugary sweetness akin to TFA Vanilla Cupcake.

Hit: 9.0/10 Very light throat hit, just how I like it. Breath feels sweet and citrus-y. I don't think this would hide a Nic bite above 6 mg.

Vapor: 8.0/10 Quite voluminous and pleasant smelling at 25/75 PG/VG. I feel like this flavor profile lends itself well to high-PG mixes and could easily work up to 75/25.

ADVability: 6.0/10 I find that TFA Orange Cream tends to fade on my taste buds rather quickly. YMMV. I don't think I could vape this heavily more than 1 day in a row and still taste it.

At the same time, I whipped up a second batch substituting out the 5% TFA French Vanilla for 5% TFA French Vanilla Deluxe. What a difference! This one's so creamy it starts to mute the orange notes. At first puff, I was let down that it was overwhelming the orange. But on second puff, I realized it's better described as a Cream Orangesicle. The creaminess is really decadant and rich, like vaping a Dove ice cream bar. Think I'll make a 30 ml batch of this stuff.

Thanks for the inspiration!

I'll have to try yours with the vanilla deluxe.

Like I said I like my orange to be there. But not over powering. I like vanilla with a little orange kick.

And a not on the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, the only reason i use it is to add a little more creamy too it. I use to just use 6% french vanilla, but i cut it back a percent and added the VBIC to add cream to it without putting in another flavor profile.

As you sayd YMMV.

And i agree with your points.

I tend to not like a strong in your face flavor. I like it to be there but not in your face. The throat hit is awesome. I don't like a lot of throat hit, just enough to know it's there.
