I got in a bottle of flavors today, and one being Gingerbread. I was expecting a gingerbread flavor, but smells and tastes just like red hots / hot tamales. Did I get sent a wrong flavor or is this really suppose to taste nothing remotely like gingerbread?
This will come off as condescending, but were you messing with red hots before you messed with the gingerbread? Sometimes it lingers on fingers and in beards.
Well that's depressing. I ordered this a while back but haven't gotten around to trying it yet. I had such high hopes for it...
Maybe I got a mislabeled bottle. I was mixing up some Cinnamon Sugar Cookie, Danish, and Gingerbread, with a little Vanillian to try and make a cinnamon cookie/cake-ish type of juice. All I taste is red hots though.
You know, it could well be the Cinnamon Sugar Cookie.
If you (are as sensitive to|utterly fucking abhor) that candy cinnamon flavor as I (am|do), it will overpower everything. Seriously. 1-2 drops of MBV Bananas Foster ruined 2mL of MBV Strawbana for me (both mixed 15%/35PG/65VG/12mg), it was like a single banana runt in a sea of Hot Tamales and Trident gum and I just about vomited remembering that just now but it was at that point I remembered it was in one of my wife's tanks and she actually likes the former flavor. Were it mine I'd probably have dumped it, rinsed it thoroughly, let it soak in PGA for a day or two, probably repeated the rinse and soak another time or two, final rinse then try it again (this was about what it took to recover a tank from TFA honey).
My suggestion: As a standalone I've seen gingerbread recommended at 10-12%, so you could try mixing only gingerbread at around 10% in some PG/VG (no nic), just a mL's worth or so (so ~0.1-0.2mL gingerbread, 0.9-1.8mL PG/VG to your preference) and try a few drops of that on a fresh wick if you really want to know what you're dealing with.
Hope this helps, & let me know how it turns out!
It's not the cinnamon sugar cookie. I made a mix with it prior that was fine, just not the flavor I wanted. Picked up gingerbread after reading about it, but didn't see anybody say it had the candy cinnamon flavor, only the bakery cinnamon. The bottle itself, just the flavoring, smells like red hots. I could smell it before I even opened the envelope.
I dunno about red hots but it definitely doesn't taste like gingerbread. There is way too much ginger in it for me. Same story with Flavor West. I like Capella gingerbread much more although I have not had it on it's own. I usually mix it with tobaccos.
