Sorry for the length, I just wanted to be thorough. I could easily have made this twice as long.

I've got two other posts in the works for mixing by weight and for tips and tricks I've come across (all the information that I couldn't find a good place for in this post, but that is really handy for DIYers).

I look forward to your feedback!

What a brilliant and thorough guide! The sidebar and post on this sub contains lots of good information but as a new starter it can be a little overwhelming - it's great to see all those information in one place and condensed in a digestible format.

Love your writing style and looking forward to your upcoming posts on mixing by weight and tips/tricks.

I am just about to start diy and this post is very helpful. I bookmarked this page because it was so helpful. I am also going to go to walmart and for 50 dollars getting a small safe to put the nicotine solution in just so my siblings (I have nine of them) cannot get into it or mess with it. Some spelling errors in there cannot remember where I saw them but it doesn't matter because you get your point across. Thanks for the write up on diy

You may look into a little lockable box for just your nic. Unless you buy incredibly small amounts, you're definitely going to want to keep it in your freezer or take other precautions. Otherwise, it will oxidize in a month or two and taste peppery.

If you can't store it in the freezer, get a can of 'wine saver' off Amazon or any decent liquor store. It's argon gas, I think around $10, and lasts virtually forever. When putting your nic away, just spray it into your container. The inert argon will settle onto your nic and displace the oxygen. No oxygen, no oxidation. Then use amber glass, a brown paper bag, or your box to protect it against UV exposure.

Trust me. ;)

I actually planned to mention oxidized nic in the follow up post to this one.

I have tons of little tidbits like this that aren't things that people just starting out will find easily.

Thanks for the feedback, I tried to edit for spelling before I posted, but that's a super long post and I'm sure I missed one or two.

Great job. Want to clear it with the other active mods, but if you'll allow it I'd like to replace our current sidebar link with this one.

If you guys think it's up to par I'm fine with it.

Thanks!

This is great. I'd add that many flavors are great on their own. I don't do much mixing at all and have >30 yummy flavors on my desk. Also, I'd add more about aging. I see too many people ask why the juice they made yesterday tastes weird and weak.

Awesome feedback. I've got plans for those topics in the tips and tricks post. I've been trying to tackle ageing in general for a while, but there is a lot more that doesn't apply to vendor juice (really, though I suppose it could), and I don't want to confuse people.

We'll have to see how that post turns out.

Really like it so far, just noting as I go.

Your first recipe you post calls for 10% double chocolate, 5% creme de menthe and 1% menthol.

Your screenshot of your recipe calculator has 10% creme de menthe, 5% double chocolate, 1% menthol.

Reversed the creme and choco.

Instead of the sidebar I'm sending people to this link. Well done.

I wasn't feeling it to begin with, but once I'd finished reading it, I bookmarked it. That should be all the feedback you need :)
