Not sure I'll ever quite be to that point, but the first that let me know I could be done buying premixed forever if I wanted/needed to be:
>Swedeghoti
>* 6% TFA Swedish gummy
- 2 drops per 15mL each sweetener and cotton candy
- 1 drop per 15mL key lime
^(Note: all except TFA Swedish gummy are from MBV; drops are using their dropper bottles.)
All my others have been somewhere between "unvapably horrible" (TFA honey + kentucky bourbon) and "not bad but definitely needs improvement" (6 of 13 projects I'm working on). The above recipe stands well above the rest, though - I pretty much stopped consuming sugars and starches last year but made a one-day-long exception last week so I could vape that while eating a 1lb bag of the real thing, and side-by-side they're pretty much spot-on to my taste (not 100% but pretty damn close).
Edit: A week late I just noticed I had initially listed TFA Swedish Gummy incorrectly at 5%. I had meant to type 6, but I have found up to 7 is fine but any higher or lower will cause the flavor to become muted. I apologize for my error.
That is a bad-ass way to do a flavor comparison. I don't know that I could eat a pound of Swedish fish.
They've always been like crack to me, I could go through a 2lb bag in one sitting back in the day. That 1lb bag took me several hours (though I wasn't properly stuffing my face with them) and all that sugar after over a year of not eating candy at all fucked with my system pretty badly but it was so worth it to make sure the flavor was on target.
My other projects aren't so easy, only three of the six have real-life analogues, and doing a flavor comparison on any of those requires I eat copious amounts of sugar or drive ~45 minutes away lol.
Really been wanting to try Swedish fish. I see they have the smaller sizes in stock now. Will have to add to next order.
Depends on how much you go through and what kind of a budget you're on, I guess. 1oz is $5 and unless you're really scared it'll be bad there's no justification for going smaller than that. Even then, I wish I had just believed it was as good as people told me it was (it's even better) and spent $16 more and gotten a 16oz instead.
If you like Honey pearry and have MBV juice laying around you can make a very good clone of it.
I use the e-juice as it comes with 2 extra shots in each bottle. Equal amounts MBV honedew and pear. Then 1/2 as much again of strawberry. Then I add a few drops of their key lime to give it some kick. Sometimes I can barely tell the difference and sometimes it tastes kind of like it. It's never been bad or unvapeable and usually it's really good and close to Vchef honey pearry. I just mix it in my atomizer or in an empty 30ml bottle. Just use 25-40% more strawberry than honeydew and pear.
Try mixing it in an atomizer or small batch to get it to your taste. I still order Honey Pearry but this keeps me from going broke. Careful with the key lime. That stuff can have a kick.
Interesting, thanks! I actually haven't had Honey Pearry yet but I've seen so many people raving about it on here I figure I have to try it sooner or later. Of course I'd love to try something with a similar profile in the mean time.
I do have pear and key lime flavors from MBV, but my honeydew and strawberry flavors are TFA (I actually have a list of everything I've got on hand right now in this post). Guess I'll have to figure it out for myself eh?
sadly enough,
Watermelon Menthol
- 12% TFA Watermelon
- 2% Menthol
Sadly??! That sounds delish bro. Perfect for a day at the park.
How does the menthol play? I played with Koolada in fruit mixes and was still getting menthol notes, so maybe tiny menthol concentrates would work as well or better.
You shouldn't be getting menthol notes from Koolada. You might get a chemical like flavor though if you use more than 2%.
I like the menthol but I have many friends that hate menthol...
1st try. Replicating B&Ms' "redbull" 12% TFA energy drink. Haven't been back to store since...
Just started DIY a few days ago and mixed 5% Milkstone and 8% Strawberry Ripe (TFA) tastes really close to one of my favorite premade juices and I wasn't trying to clone it.
Taste is subjective but these flavors taste just like Space Jam Andromeda to me. I've adjusted the percentages several times trying to get the flavor without adding more than needed. Just guessing in the dark here. After awhile it becomes bland though so I switch to a different recipe than come back to it.
TFA - Blueberry Extra 6%
TFA - Pomogranite 6%
TFA - Vanillan 3%
I do higher on blueberry and lower on pomegranate. 9% and 4%, and it seems spot on. I also do a clone of TVC's black pompom that's the balls. But what I've discovered is a 50/50 mix of both juices is exponentially better than the two on their own. I haven't tried making it all in one batch. I just happened to have two partial bottles that I threw together.
10% LorAnn strawberry, 10% LorAnn cheesecake. Sounds like it might be too heavy of flavor but it tastes amazing.
That would be my coffee with hazelnut mix.

Not my best juice, but certainly a favorite. From then on ejuice making was like mixing cocktails. Sure I can go to a bar for a nice rounded speciality but I can also do my favs at home.
