Note to new DIY'ers... and myself... WRITE IT ALL DOWN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!
submitted about 11 years ago by Kachi6391

So I'm sitting here talking to my friend on Skype... Dicking around making some juice, trying some things out.

I say to him, "You know what Steve, fuck it. I haven't tried anything with Grape Juice. Here goes nothing. If this is good, kill me. Because I'm not writing shit down."

I grab Grape Juice. Bavarian Cream. Vanillian. AND SOMETHING ELSE. Pretty sure Strawberry.

Grape Juice: 6.5

Bav Cream: 3.5

Vanillian: 2... maybe

Strawberry(?)..: 3.

Holy GOD. It's amazing. I'm currently not ok with myself right now.

Anyway, write everything down. Good, bad, WHATEVER. Just write it down.

TL;DR - WRITE THAT SHIT DOWN YO

pls write it down.

There are a number of ejuice calculators.

It's the 21st century, save it in the computer (or use an online calc that saves it in the cloud)

Yup. I mean write it down as in... Takes notes anywhere. Just get it somewhere with what you do. Either grams, drops, what ever. Piece of paper. Calculators where you can make a profile and save. Anything.

Yep. Been there. I had just received my diy supplies and was just mixing stuff together. My second mix was blueberry waffles with maple syrup and whipped cream. It was divine. Didn't write it down and I've never been able to duplicate it.

Damn, that sounds amazing.

But yup, this is incredible. And I hope to everything I remembered them correctly. I know the grape juice and Vanallian is correct. It's bugging the hell out of me. I just don't know how much Cream I put in. Pretty sure it was 3 or 3.5. And I don't even remember if I put Strawberry in it. Slightly upset.

God speed on trying to replicate it bud. Really. I have a feeling I'm going to beat myself up over this for a little bit. THIS 10ML BOTTLE WILL LAST ME ^^^for ^^^like ^^^10 ^^^min.

Oh I will when this bottle is done. I'm glad I started tasting my juice before vaping it. I make a lot of strawberry stuff. I can definitely taste strawberry.

Oh juice jesus pls

Is it gone yet? I've never successfully finished 10ml in an hour !

I have been delaying the inevitable. I can feel the sadness growing.

The way I do it is a simple spreadsheet, a page for juices that i've made and a second page for juices that are actually worth making again.

Also, try not to mix while distracted. Was playing Settlers of Catan and trying to mix up 100 ml of my current ADV and in between a heated discussion about bartering...oh shit, I have a 3 ml syringe and I needed 8 ml...did I fill it twice and now I'm doing 2 ml? Or did I only put in 3 ml so far....gad dommit!

Lol, that's exactly what happened. I was listening to his kids kill each other in the background. Was very amusing.

I agree with the sentiment, but not the method. All mine are on the PC, which won't get lost or ruined in the washing machine.

I agree. What I kind of meant to say was no matter what way, make sure you note everything. I normally use this site http://www.e-liquid-recipes.com/create.

Love it. Can make a profile and put it in weight setting grams. Good stuff.

I use the juice calculator linked in the sidebar. What i love about that one, as well as being able to use grams rather than mls, is the inventory thing. Whenever you're running low on anything it'll warn you automagically! Much easier to keep track of stock levels of everything.

But yeah, however you do it, getting it all down somewhere is the important thing :)

I love that thing. Just need to get off my lazy ass and put everything I have in there. Haven't made it to the point where I'm buying flavors left and right and in big quantities, but when I do, I'm making the switch to that.

It's not really that hard to keep track of a notebook

Let's say the unthinkable happens and you do lose it, have you got a backup notebook?

Let's say the unthinkable happens and you lose everything on your pc.

This advice cannot be stressed enough. It's absolutely essential to becoming successful at DIY.

So what I do is...

Open up text editor, make notes of every drop of everything I've put in, then save it to dropbox. That way, if my computer explodes or whatnot, it's all there in the cloud. And...if I go over to a friends place, I can pull up my recipes on my phone.

I have a hard copy and excel spreadsheet of all my work. It is the sole reason why I have as many of the recipes I do.
