Anyone have a good cherry cheesecake? Three failures... pretty sure it's the flavorings.
submitted about 11 years ago by LoganPhyve

Hey all. Seasoned mixologist here, wondering if anyone has had a success with cherry cheesecake juice. I have a week old bottle of TFA maraschino cherry and TFA cheesecake. Mixed in 5% of each, and it just has a wicked soap flavor with a cherry-ish note. Are these just plain bad flavors? This is my third attempt (first I had bad/old cherry and second I had bad/old cheesecake, so I bought both fresh to try again).

Anyone else have issues with these ingredients? I made a blueberry cheesecake a year or two ago that was decent but I can't get anything to work with the cherry.

TFA cheesecake is the most rancid thing I've ever tried.

TFA Cheesecake is horrid. TFA cheesecake (graham crust) probably is my favourite aroma atm. I only vape tobacco liquids and cheesecake (gc) + a fruit/berry.

My clear fav is(and its fine to vape straight away):

5% TFA cheesecake with graham crust 10% TFA Lemon (FA lemon Sicily also works great)

Instead of lemon, - strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, black cherry, pear ect. works great too at about 10%. I guess its fine to add sweetener, cream or something if you want - personally I dont think its necessary.

Capella NY cheesecake isnt bad either, but I prefer TFA.

Well, I basically just said what already had been said.

Dude,

There is not a single cherry artificial flavor that does not suck. If I were you I would just forget about cherry.

Try newyork cheesecake from capella but the graham flavor is very strong in that one so you probably have to mix it with something creamy.

Cherry Candy from TFA isn't horrendous but it's obviously not true cherry. Every other cherry I've tried tastes like cough syrup.

I've never worked with cherry, but tfa cheesecake is gross. Try tfa chwssecake (graham crust) , its much better.

Yeah, I think I'm starting to realize that. Any other good cheesecake flavors out there?

I've used Capella NY cheesecake and it's pretty good.

You don't find it exceedingly buttery? I've been using it at low percentages to round out my other cream flavors, but on its own I just taste cloying butter.

Those are the only 2 I've tried. I made a few blueberry cheesecakes a while ago and they were good, just not adv. I haven't played around with cheesecake since then.

I'd second the graham crust. I'm not too familiar with TFA's cherries to know how they'll interact though.

I'm not super experienced, but I've been REALLY digging on the LorAnn cheesecake with strawberry. I'd imagine it would be good with cherry as well.

Capella's NY Cheesecake is awesome. Take my word on it. Contains acetoin, probably.

I have NEVER tasted a good cherry flavoring. Black cherry from TFA is okay but its got a perfumy taste to it. I use it at 1% in a mountain dew code red recipe
