Looking for a good, clear Root Beer flavoring.

I'm in the process of creating a "Eh and Dubbya" style Root Beer juice, but have only used Lorann's Root Beer flavor so far which I'm torn on. While it tastes fine and works for me, the color is so dark that it makes the juice unappealing to me and I'd assume any people who would look at it.

You can hold it up to direct sunlight and see no light come through, so I'm looking for a product that offers a similar flavor but without the darkness.

LA Sassafras + wintergreen + horehound = rootbeer. The sassafras is clear and very good. I haven't used it in a long time so I think it's time to re-explore some rootbeer mixes.

I never had any success with LorAnn's root beer, and yes, it is very dark. I haven't had any issues with TFA's. It is clear to start but will turn brown depending on nicotine content after some time.

Slight darkening is fine by me, but this Lorann's stuff looks like pine tar! Not appealing to vape at all, IMO.

No, I agree. The stuff was impossible to work with, too. TFA is on point, but I don't think it will be what you are looking for straight. Like others have said about this, and other, root beers, splash in a bit of wintergreen. I also add some koolada.

whats a recipe you use with root beer? I made one that was 11% root beer and 3% french vanilla.

It was way too strong, so i let it steep for a week, now the taste is barely there. Lost at words. First mix i've done i'm disappointed in. Got the recipe off here. I do max VG so i try to get as close to 15% flavoring as possible.

I did one that is 8% RB and 4% french vanilla that turned out pretty good. That was 65/35 though.

Capella makes a pretty good root beer, its clear to begin with and turns a light brown after a few weeks, nothing too dark though.

I've only played around with TFA Root Beer Float. It's a decent base at around 6-10%. If I was shooting for an A&W I'd probably toy around with adding low notes of creams and custards.

Lot's of people say add wintergreen, and while I can see it's potential value I'd start without it and work up VERY slowly. I found that included in any of my mixes I'd get a good root beer hit on the first pull and then everything thereafter was a funky wintergreeny mess.

I didn't go too far down the rabbit hole with it though because the warm root beer flavor didn't tickle my fancy like I'd hoped it would. So grain of salt and all that.

Thanks for that. I actually got the A&W flavor down perfectly, but the juice was just so pitch black it wasn't very appealing.

I really liked 10% RB, 3% Vanilla Ice Cream, 3% French Vanilla, 3% Marshmallow, and 1% Ethyl Maltol.

Give it a go. It's simply amazing IMO.
