Juice Cloning discovery
submitted about 11 years ago by otsismiMixologist

I've been trying to vet out what flavors Vape Dojo in Ellicot City, MD uses in their Soller's Point juice from the Charlie Noble line of Ejuices. This juice has a strong banana primary flavor, with a caramel tobacco vanilla aspect to it. I recently finished a bottle and there was a lot of residue left in the bottle. So I put 1 or 2 ml of water in the bottle, shook it up and let it sit. When I went back to it after several days, I smelled the bottle and the primary banana flavor had disappeared from the bouquet. I now detected a sweet cinnamon roll flavor coming from the bottle. I had never detected this flavor previously. I am AMAZED by this discovery. The cinnamon was so hidden beneath the banana that I never once detected it. But, this flavor is obviously a vital component to the juice's signature flavor.

I'm playing around with juice cloning and I've noticed that every one has different taste buds. For example made a raspberry cinnamon vanilla custard( trying for rip trippers foxy fuel) and my wife swears there's no cinnamon, my mom says she can't taste the custard. I think it's almost spot on for what I tasted in foxy. But they persist, they don't say it's bad but when I ask them if they can pick out flavor "x" , it's either I can't tell or oh yeah I can taste that now. So you conundrum of the cinnamon roll is probably right probably was there the whole time.

It is a problem of perception

I agree. My girlfriend is a non smoker and she swears she gets no taste from a freckled lemonade I make and to me it's overpowering at times.

Disclaimer: this is my second week mixing so please be nice. Honestly this one I've been eyeballing. I know, I know. But the cinnamon isn't really cinnamon. After some trial it's seems better if I use Belgium waffle. I use premixed for my tinkering 6mg 80/20 vg/pg. again these are rough estimates. Please don't be harsh. So your standard 10 ml test with 9ml of premix with a 1ml flavor area. I did .2 of raspberry(sweet), Belgium waffle, sweet cream, .3 vanilla custard, .1 crunch berry. 3 drops of ripe banana. Sweeten to your liking. Again I'm very green to mixing so if this sounds like a lot or strange, sorry. It's what works for me. Hope it helps. I am using TFA flavors purchased from v-ecigs.com

Hey man, no worries. We all start somewhere. That doesn't look bad at all. Keep it up!

You can also use vaper's tounge.

For example, mix up banana and cinnamon and vape it for a couple days. Then try the juice you're cloning again. The banana and cinnamon will now be masked so you can pick out the other flavors.
