I am not too attached to nicotine. I came from the pipe smoking world where I would smoke a pipe 2-3 times a week at the maximum. After switching to vaping, I started with 6mg and dropped to 0mg for a while before switching back to 3-6mg. I don't love the nicotine buzz and even at 3mg it makes me sick after chain vaping. I'd love to drop back down to 0mg, but I miss the throat hit when I do.
I've seen a product from Wizard Labs which claims to give a throat hit. Has any one used this? Are there any other good alternatives to nicotine to get that nice throat hit?
There's a link on the side of this subreddit Notes-Additives-Flavor Enhancers.
This lists a couple options to generate throat hit including Capella's Horchata, want2vape's Caramel #2, and some Cinnamons. Additionally, Pure Grain Alcohol (Everclear/151 Rum/Vodka - high proof) 1-2 drops per 5 ml.
If the horchata is anything like The Vapor Room's horchata flavor, I want nothing to do with it. I tried some last night and it was super peppery. It literally tasted like the shit they use to keep you from biting your finger nails or something.
Caramel #2 and cinnamons might be useful, but they might clash with certain flavors. I'll give the alcohol one a shot, but there is a (small) risk of "getting drunk" off it, yeah? If so, I'll have to be careful not to get any to people under 21 since any detectable amount of alcohol is considered a DUI for under 21 here.
I'm not a scientist. I make pizzas. But I don't think you can get drunk from vaporized booze. If I'm wrong then I think I just found my way into the inebriati.
Capsicum starting at .5%.
Not sure where, but i remember someone saying this a while back and it was discovered its very bad to inhale.
Dont crucify me cause i don have a link, thats just what i remember
I did that once by accident.
I wanted to dry some Habaneros, so I put them into the microwave. A couple of seconds later the capsaicin vaporized and my eyes and throat started to burn. It was not a nice chili burn, it was more like sandblasted. It took me half an hour to get the fumes out by opening every window.
I would not try that again, but for vapers who like throat hits it can work with a low enough dosage.
Have you tried even .25-.5 nicotine? You might get away from the buzz, but still get a throat hit. I vape 1 mg/ml and still have a throat hit, and if I increase it even a little bit it becomes too much (so I think you acclimate to low levels real quick.)
Whats your set up? Subohming with an RDA will deliver a good throat hit.
I have a Ranger OKR with a dual coil 0.65 ohm build. With 0mg juices, I get little to no throat hit, even running upwards of 50w. I doubt it's my build...
What pg/VG ratio are you using? A higher pg level for OP would help also
Vaper's Choice 'Kool Ice' menthol flavor at 0mg or similar will give you all throat hit you want
I should have mentioned that, menthol irritates my throat beyond all reason, so no menthol. :-(
Heya, I'm a permanent 0nic vaper (I loved hookahs but nicotine would make me ill) and while I just got up, I'll give a good think as to which flavors have had that kick to them. I would definitely recommend trying cinnamon, very pleasant and a nice bite, while not the exact same kick you might be looking for.
How about straight Koolada? It's said to add to throat hit. while also providing a "cooling sensation." It might work on the same principle as menthol, though, so it might also be a throat irratant.
I've not used FlavourArt's BiteXtra > BiteXtra Full Hit:- BiteXtra uses both Vegetable Glycerin and Propylene Glycol, along with natural flavouring, to produce the perfect replacement for those seeking a throat-hit from low Nicotine eliquids.
BiteXtra Ingredients <59% Propylene Glycol EP <40% (Veg) Glycerol EP <4.5% Nicotine EP <1% Plant extract EFSA BiteXtra Smooth:- The same as above but 20% extra VG reduces the harshness of the throat-hit.
