Tricks for extracting liquid when the syringe won't reach any further?
submitted about 11 years ago by CitizenSmif

I've got some 1L bottles of various liquids. The largest syringe I've got is 20ml and it only reaches to about half way down even when pushed right into the bottle.

What do you guys do when you get to this level of liquid and the syringe doesn't reach down any further?

I suppose one way would be to pour it into 500ml bottles.. but I don't have any. Surely there's an easier way?

Edit: Great suggestions, cheers lads

Take the plunger out the syringe and pour it in while plugging the other end. Put plunger back in check the level of liquid and squirt away. If using nic wear gloves if not then that's up to you.

I pour it into an ounce glass, get what I need and pour the remaining back.

I would suggest, especially when using nicotine, distributing to smaller bottles and storing the rest in a dark cool place (closet, drawer, etc). When you get new nicotine it greatly increases self life to distribute a small amount in a mixing bottle then immediately seal the rest and store in a freezer (or cool dark place if that's not possible). You will notice a lot less oxidation, especially if you mix a lot (constantly opening and closing the nic bottle).

I have been pouring it into something smaller and wider so I can reach.
