Sphynx Tobacco by Inawera
submitted about 11 years ago by slider162

I picked up some Sphynx Tobacco by Inawera recently and though I would share my findings since I couldn't find anything here on it before purchasing.

As a newbie to DIY, I started at 5% which I start most other tobaccos out at (TFA, FA, FW, etc). I didn't do my research and Inawera recommends starting at 1%.

On my first draw it reminded me of Bacco B. Just a bitter combination of holiday spices. On my second draw, in my very limited experience with r/trees, that was the first thing that came to mind. I couldn't take any more after 4-5 draws. It was too pungent.

I diluted it down to 2.5% and wasn't much better. Still very strong. The spices came through more, but r/trees was still very much alive and well.

At 1% it is very much like eating pumpkin pie without the whipped cream. Still similar to the spices in Bacco B. I can't eat pumpkin pie without the whipped cream, so I'm pretty much done with this flavor.

Mix it up again and let it age.

Tobaccos tend to change for the better the longer they sit, most need to develop.

I'm not sure what you mean by Bacco B, when I see that I think of Blueberry Tobacco lol.

I don't understand how it tastes like both tobacco and weed either, weed is very herbal and tobacco is not.

And then pumpkin pie lol ... that's a lot of different tastes from one flavor.

Bombies makes Bacco B. It is that kind of spice if you have ever had it.

I never said it tastes like tobacco. I said it is listed under tobaccos if you are looking for it.

Pumpkin pie holiday type of spices at lower percentages, yes. A strong herbal flavor listed at higher percentages.

Ahh, the the mystery of the Sphynx. Is it tobacco? Pumpkin? WEED? All of the above? Or something else? Something not of this world? All joking aside, you said you can't eat pumpkin pie without whipped cream. Why not add a cream to it? Bavarian? I've read that the Templars may have relocated to Bavaria to escape discovery. The Sphynx and the Templars. Related?

Unusual sounding flavor. Save a 2% blend and try it again in 3 weeks, always good to hear flavor evaluations, but most change a bit over time and that "mellowed" flavor profile is what most of us are curious about. I like to be able to vape a blend as soon as I mix it, and there are a few concoctions that are great "fresh", but most tobaccos and quite a few other flavors will change significantly in a few weeks once the mixture has time to settle blend and homogenize.

I'm not positive, but I think the Sphynx tobacco from Ecigexpress (assuming you purchased it from them) is actually called S'Camel from the Inawera TDM line. I have S'Camel and I found that it's a good mixer at very low percentages but doesn't work so well on it's own. Good luck!
